Remarks
I applied in Scottish Church, Bethune College,Presidency College, Durgapur Government College but I didn't opt for these because I wanted to study in Visva Bharati as it is a Central University. I didn't avail for any quota for admission. The criteria for admission in Economics here is that one should pursue maths in their higher secondary and minimum marks is 55% in economics and mathematics. The counseling is was totally in online mode.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Economics because I love this subject. It has many opportunities and as a citizen of India we the future generation should come with innovative ideas for improving our economy. The faculty of our department is about 10-12 professors and the number of students in each year is nearly 40. The professors are well educated, some of them have acquired Phd degree,some have acquired M.Phil, some are still doing research. Their teaching procedure is also very nice and friendly. We love to attend their classes. They make the class environment friendly and comfortable.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is yearly 6000 rupees only. They include tuition fees,medical, and others. There is an opportunity for scholarship like Vivekananda Scholarship. The reserved category have to give less fees than the general category.
Campus Life
There are many fests in Visva Bharati like Ananda Bazar,poushmela,etc. Poush mela is conducted in the month of December,Dol utsab is conducted in the time of Holi. There is a central library and a library in each department and it has thousands and thousands of books. The classrooms are spacious, neat and clean. Sports is conducted and extracurricular activities like gym, swimming,dance,song, instrument are available here. The SFI is the club of students where they help students coming to visva Bharati for admission and for any other help.
