Entrance Preview

Entrance examination for IMSc in University of Hyderabad. It was a 100 marks paper and i scored 48.50 out of it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

There are enormous number of research going on at a particular time. The academics to research ratio in fact is close to 30:70. The syllabus pattern contains all those subjects and topics which are helpful for research. One Imsc student like me can do research based internships under faculty of any department.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internships to its own student as well as from outside. I have no idea about the stipend. You get to do internship with some brilliant professors and get an opportunity to work in research lab for some time.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement statistics is average here. There are some computer guys who get placed by microsoft, tcs, ibm , and other it companies from japan and singapore. The record placement has been around 45 lacs. For overall departments the placement averages around 8 lacs per annum.

College Events

3.5

Celebrations are quite common in the campus. Since there remains an ample of time after academic session students are always in search of amusements. There are always some cultural and dj celebration found. But the number of technical fests are quite less. But you can always access to the workshop.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is not only feasible its just countable by kids. For sciences Its like rs 2100. And hostel charge is 500. And mess bill you have to pay every month for how much you eat. And some peanuts for other purpose. However there is an exemption of tuition fees for AP and Telengana students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Almost every student gets a scholarship except Imsc students. Only Imsc students whose parental income is less than 200000 get a scholarship of rs 750 pm for 10.0 months.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is not a burden. It gives ample time to the student. It includes around 3 minors and a major. Out of the 3 minors best two will be reflected.

Admission

I appeared for the entrance exam of this university on june 5 2016. After the rank list was out about on 7- july 2016. There was a cut off rank of 206 and students within it were called. In the counselling first rank first priority to choose the course. i chose earth science.

Faculty

3

The faculties are mostly for us an associate professor. With every one of them we have met hold at least one degree from abroad. They undertake several research and share some of them with us. Besides that they try to study and come to the class. Most of them succeed to teach basics while some fail.

The geology has very significant importance to human in more ways but the Geology related jobs are very less in state government and central government. Few geology related companies are give opportunities to students wit. Internships and also provide jobs with tough exam and interview. The companies are Geological Survey of India and NGRI etc.. we expect that jobs in state government jobs but very less in state government in geology related jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite relevant and comprehensive offering a balanced combination of theoretical and practical knowledge for learning. This curriculum helps in developing both conceptual clarity and analytical skills and prepare students well for real - world challenges as well as higher academic pursuits. This curriculum is strong and valuable. The frequency and timing of exams are generally reasonable though at times.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is an amazing course. Helps me understand the concept very deeply the curriculum is also really good. Every teacher has their own way of teaching some can improve but it is fine we can try to study and understand by ourselves a bit. When it comes to internals its of 20 marks we have as such three of them for one sem and avg of 10 is taken from it internals are of 1hr and externals will be about 2hrs 30mins and labs of 3hrs

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the biotechnology course includes all the relevant topics needed to gain information about the subject. The curriculum also includes currently developing topics of interest which may gain popularity in the future (like bioinformatics). It thoroughly prepares us for real world applications as we gain exposure to various fields of interest in the subject and get a hands-on training in the subject. Ab area i would like to suggest for improvement is to alot equal no. Of periods to different papers in the subject as each topic has its own value in the academic and career purpose. The internals are conducted every month within a duration of 1 hour for each paper. there are currently 4 internals for our batch, each of 10 marks. The externals or the end semester exams are conducted at the end of the semester approx 6 months, which are of 50 marks. 10 marks is alloted for attendance, bringing the total to 1000.
