Remarks
I was admitted to the college through the marks I obtained in Jee mains. I didn't qualify main exam but it was close to the cut-off marks. So, through the state-wise merit list, I applied for this college and got it. There are several rounds for colleges of MP. You can apply it on the site of MP online. The college also takes direct admissions on a few seats so even if you have not taken any exam, you can directly approach the college for admissions.
Course Curriculum Overview
The set of faculty we had when we joined was very good but it deteriorated with every year. There are many colleges in MP. Teachers keep leaving one and joining the other. The current faculty of the college is not of as high quality as it was in the previous years. The faculty-student ratio is fine. The college doesn't pay the faculty well enough to keep them sticking for the long run. Nevertheless, the exams were very timely and you can just not pass with writing anything. Internal exams are relatively tougher. The semester exams are easier.
Internships Opportunities
Internships don't come under college responsibility. It was our own job to find one. But every year, there are a few companies that come in to take students for internships and college lets us know. Internships are not hard to find due to the digital era. But the one paying well is very scarce to find. If you want to do internships in government sectors, you can always take up BHEL and Indian Railways. In private, for IT, Dell and HP are great. Or else, choose from the online lot.
Placement Experience
From the 6Th sem, students are eligible for campus placements. There are different companies that visit the campus. IT- TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, etc Sales and marketing- Byjus, Jaro, Extramarks, Whitehat Jr., etc Core companies visit very few with a very low no of seats. There are also many other companies and start-ups that visit the college. There are also possibilities for internships. I sat for 5 companies and I was offered 4 of them. I am currently working @Infosys but before it, I worked in Extramarks for a short while as well. 80 % of the people who sit for campus end up getting different jobs so placement is not an issue. The salary offered is comparatively very less.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee hikes every year with a rate of 10%. But once you have joined it will be the same for all four years. If you avail of the hostel you have to pay separately for hostel and mess food. If you want to avail of bus service, you have to pay extra for that too. If you stay far from 3km radius, you are compelled to take the bus service. It's good actually. I used to pay 78000 per annum for tuition fees and 12000 per annum for the bus fee. I was from out of M. P. So, I couldn't avail myself any scholarship but they have scholarships if you are from the MP board and got more than 90% in 12th and 10th board or if you are in EWS (economically weaker section) category. You also get some scholarships, if you top your semester exams in the whole university.
Campus Life
The students get an upper hand in forming any sports club they want but might not get the funding needed. But the sports and extracurricular activities are awesome on campus. We have a great sports team for all kinds of sports. I was a part of the girl's basketball team for 4 years. We played in a lot of tournaments. We also had a literary club, photography club, and student activity center. I did a lot of content writing work for the college and the photography club. It made life so lively on campus.
Hostel Facilities
Meal quality kept fluctuating but was mostly edible. Hostel affordability is not an issue. There are many places to live both near and far from college for both pgs, hostels and independent flats. Some recommended areas are Anand Nagar, Patel Nagar, Ayodhya bypass, Awadhpuri, Gautam Nagar, Near Chetak bridge, Ashoka Garden, Rachna Nagar, MP Nagar. I recommend this as whatever you will need in your college life is all easily accessible in these places, the transportation is very accessible, food availability in the area is great, the student population is great and college buses have stopped here.
