Remarks

The admission process at Tezpur University was pretty straightforward. You need to complete your graduation and clear the Tezpur University Entrance Exam to secure the admission. There is no interview or GD round. I availed myself admission in the general category. You are selected on the basis of your marks in the entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

Integrated B.Com + M.Com is a 5 year programme divided into 6 semesters for B.Com and 4 semesters for M.Com. All the professors are well versed in their field of knowledge. I used to ask a lot of doubts in the class and they were solved in the class itself. Student : faculty ratio maintained by the university was 32:1. The eye catcher of the program is the Hands-on training part on the Tally Accounting Software.

Internships Opportunities

Summer Internship Programme is organized by the University to give the students a hands-on feeling in the industry. You can apply for the same by submitting the form containing your details. The main of this programme is to develop the students for the corporate world and teach them the required strategies for survival.

Placement Experience

More than 100 companies visited the campus during my placements. Around 85% of the students got placed in my batch with a good CTC. Some of the top recruiters who participated in the placement week were Accenture, Airtel, CapGemini, Coca-Cola, Colgate Palmolive , Delphi Automotive , DRDO , Glaxo Smithkline , Godrej and Boyce. I landed in a good job with a good CTC for a fresher.

Campus Life

Initially, I took my time adapting to the social life of this university. Cultural differences felt somewhat many times. A lot of festivals and academic events are organized by the student's committee. Huge Library present in the campus was a home to many books and journals. Overall, living in Tezpur university was great.

The college i study in is very good

Placement Experience:

Students from 5th semester onwards are ready for campus placements. The students from our college gets a very good college placement at a very nice company and salary. The percentage of students getting degree are 80% and my plan after my degree are to become "Company Secretary or job at SBI".

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course is very rich and varied for someone from commerce background . There are a lot of subjects for students which students study in various semesters . There's even EVS in the curriculum which is wierd but also great . I feel the curriculum is a lot based on the real life there are topics related to computerised accounting, e businesses , virtual reality , augmented reality , stock markets etc etc . which are ig very necessary for today's world . Since I am just in my 1st semester I don't think I can say a lot about the improvements that can be made but I feel the curriculum can also include a little about AI as it's the burning topic of today's world . If there's a subject like EVS for commerce then I feel even an AI subject will not pose much difficulty or chaos among the students . Exams are very regular . I just had my sessional exams in October and now I am preparing for my finals which are in December

Gauhati University: A Students perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Nothing influenced my decision to choose this course. I just wanted to choose this course for fun, to be honest. the curriculum rarely prepares us for real-world applications or further academic pursuits but whenever it does it would be very beneficial for the students. Held frequent inspections in the college so that they can improve themselves and the teaching method should be in a friendly and more comprehensive way. The exam timings are perfect along with the perspective of their difficulty level.

Gauhati Commerce College : A premier Institution for Conmerce Education with Evolving Opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, nothing specific has influenced me in the decision to choose this course that is BCOM as most of these student after passing shoes, so I also opt to BCOM. Well, the curriculum does not fully prepare the students for real world applications or further academic pursuits. They does not provide any practical knowledge or any kind of internship to the students for the real world. Well, according to me, they should provide some internship or something related to practical knowledge. This improvements are very necessary. The frequency and timing of exams is very low like within four months the university tries to complete the whole semester, and it's very hard to complete the whole syllabus within just four months.

Tezpur University review

I applied for different nits but couldn't get any because my jee mains percentile was little low , i applied for GFTIs like Assam University and Tezpur University, I got seat in both of them but I chose Tezpur University because it was far more better then Assam University both in terms of academics and infrastructure. My college admits students on the basis of exams like JEE Mains , TUEE , CUET , etc. For the engineering course the students are admitted on the basis of JEE Mains and TUEE scores and the cutoff is not fixed, it changes every year . A look at TU for MBA program

TU is a central government university and the ambience is majestic out here. I personally like the university very much as it creates such a bond, you would have memories forever.
