IIT Gandhinagar's Review.

The admission process was through JOSAA. It is the standard process used for admission into all IITs. Students need to appear and qualify for JEE Mains and Advanced to be eligible for this institute. Then filling up preferences through JOSAA you can get to this college.

The course curriculum is diverse. It covers almost every aspect of Mechanical Engineering. Also, the course structure is not restricted. Students are given enough freedom and a lot of opportunities to take up extra courses according to their field of interest. Interdisciplinary education is also heavily promoted. All the faculty is very involved and are always happy to accept students passionate about their areas of interest, be it undergraduates or postgraduates. The faculty is given independence to design the course structure and policies so that they can give out the best from that course to the students.

Companies offer stipends starting from 5k to more than 1L. This depends from company to company and roles. We have ML, AI, SDE internship, techno managerial internship, consulting and other non core profiles, and technical internships. Different companies visit for different roles. Companies like Deshaw, Google, ITC, JSW, Barclays, KMK Consulting, Ford have visited campus.

Students can complete graduation in 3.5 years(minimum). Campus placements happen in the odd semester. A lot of companies visit campuses like Enphase, Google, JSW, ITC, Barclays, etc for internships and placements. I am applying for such opportunities as well. Our college also invites professors from international institutes like CalTech, University of Washington, etc who offer research internship opportunities to students. Students interested in higher studies apply for such opportunities.

Fees include tuition, hostel, mess, laundry, club activities, etc. Students are provided financial assistance based on merit and financial status of a family, both. Various donors offer scholarships waiving off at least one semester worth of tuition fees, and sometimes even more. Students performing well in academics, sports or any other activities are also funded with scholarships. Institute has its own Career Development Services which tries its best to arrange placement and internship opportunities for its students. The team has been successful in inviting high-end companies like Google, Oracle, Barclays, Mathworks, ITC, etc for recruiting students. Check cds.iitgn.ac.in

All students stay on campus. The life here is awesome. There are hundreds of different opportunities. Technical clubs, magazines, cultural clubs, event organising teams, sports teams, student councils, etc where students can choose to dedicate their free time and contribute. The hostel has a bed, mattress, cupboards, study table and lamps+bookshelves in new hostel rooms. All floors have one refrigerator, induction stove, oven, water dispenser and a dedicated pantry area to cook, wash dishes and keep utensils. The mess has a variety of meals, according to the menu designed by students. 4 meals are provided daily, ensuring a balanced diet. Also, laundry services are provided for washing and ironing clothes. Additionally, students have a few washing machines which can be issued to wash miscellaneous clothes. All students have to stay in hostels on-campus only.
