REC BIJNOR( RISING SUN IN UP WEST)

To take admission in this college, one has to appear in UPSEE(Uttar Pradesh State entrance examination) my rank was AIR 24760 (SC 1160) so i got admission here. UPSEE form has to fill an offline exam is conducted and ranks are allowed to candidates, then the counseling process starts, one can opt for 10 colleges and they are allotted to candidates according to his/her respective rank. An improvement would be 3rd or 4th round counseling should be there if the candidate changes his mind or if seats remain vacant in the college, some other student can opt via 3rd or 4th round of counseling.

I chose Civil engineering because it is a mother branch and probably the most important engineering branch second to none. The faculty-student ratio is approximately 60 Students to 10 faculty. Faculty in my time was BTECH QUALIFIED which the AICTE Later changed rules that BTECH cant teach BTECH, one must me MTECH, so in my final year this rule applied and now aal the MTECH faculty teaches BTECH students. Exams were not so easy to pass, the regular study was required and The exams were held at regular intervals, The time gap which was meant to be there was always maintained.

When it comes to Civil Engineering there are few companies and those companies prefer tier1 and tier2 colleges ,so in 2016 no construction companies came and companies like wipro, tcs and other it companies packages offered were highest 4.2 to lowest 2.0 LPA.

In Uttar Pradesh, there is a scholarship for all GEN, OBC, SC, ST. one should have the higher rank to avail these seats in the colleges, for eg our class had 15 (fee waiver seats) for general students only and SC students are all exempted from paying the fee provided their parent's income is less than 2 lakhs per annum. The fee is normal 65500 per year during my time including 18000 more for a hostel. This pretty much sums up the financial assistance by the government and there are minimal opportunities for campus jobs, students have to come up with their own ideas to earn money on campus, you can sell books on campus.

The annual fest is ODYSSEY, around October. there are various sports clubs and various Esports clubs for both outdoor and indoor activities. We have various competitions between different branches including cricket tournaments and volleyball tournaments, this is pretty much it as the college sports club does not offer much just 4 to 5 sports and their sports kit are available. Badminton, table tennis, etc. Classrooms are pretty basic.

As it is far from the main city, so the hostel is the only accommodation one should opt for in this college, mess quality if good enough, mess secretary elections are there and they control the menu, meal quality, and budget. the registration process is simple and sufficient hostel rooms are available for students, all students can stay in hostels. Hostels are affordable.
