Remarks

Due to the Covid pandemic, the admission process for SIDTM was held completely in an online mode. The eligibility for MBA at SIDTM is 50% in Graduation from any stream and a valid SNAP score of around 83 percentile. SNAP or Symbiosis National Aptitude Test is an all-India Management exam which is an essential component used by SIDTM to shortlist students for the MBA programme. The SNAP is of a 60 minutes MCQ exam where it tests the ability of the student in the English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. The application form can be found from the SNAP exam official website and the registration fees is Rs. 1950/-. One can give this exam two times and the best of the two can be submitted to the college you have applied of your choice. In order to score well in SNAP one needs to give mock tests regularly and continue revising baisc concepts as asked in the exam. After fulfiling the above requirements one gets shortlisted for GEPIWAT round which will held online in ZOOM.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

SIDTM is famously known to be one of the only colleges that provide a specialized MBA degree in Telecom Management. Since I come from a Mathematics background and number crunching is something that I love, I chose to do an MBA specializing in Telecom as the Telecommunications industry is the future of India and it requires Techno-Managers to keep doing the hardwork to make India a number one country in the field of Telecom Research. Faculty is highly qualified as all of the faculty has a PHD, has written brilliant research papers and some are also NET qualified. Faculty uses sophisticated software and simulation to help understand complex theories in a simple and fun way. The faculty student ratio is 8:1. Term exams are fairly simple and easy and are held online. If one studies regularly, reads all the notes the faculty provides, it is very easy to pass the exams.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is filled with fun and I have made amazing friends. There are various committees which are completely student-led such as Branding Committee, Cultural Committee, SPARSH Committee, Sports Committee, etc. There are various festivals and celebrations that are celebrated inside the SIDTM campus. Classrooms have smart boards, IBM labs which make teaching and learning interactive. There is a Central Library having repository of more 200 books of different genres and there is an online portal that provides ebooks, research papers and journals. Instagram and Twitter are the most popular social media handles that SIDTM has which is completely managed by the students of different committees for regular updates about various activtities in SIDTM.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is single occupancy, double occupancy and triple occupancy for hostel rooms. You do not have a choice in the first year to choose what room you want, but in second year depending on availability and comfort level one gets to switch and choose the room of their choice. Hostel fees is 1,00,000 per year but may be hiked depending upon government and university guidelines. Room has cupboards, and study tables and also has a LAN cable for accessing WiFi. Mess food is satisfactory. If anyone has special requirements or concerns one may contact the student respresentatives who handle the Mess.

Interview Experience

4.5

Yes post my shortlisting by SIDTM, I had to go through 3 rounds. Round 1 was the Written Ability Test, where I had to write an essay out of 6 topics on an online portal. The time limit was 30 minutes. The topics which one has to write an essay on range from current affairs, ethics, philosophy and General Knowledge. Be well aware of various topics and most importantly practice writing to do well in this round. The second round was of Group Discussion where it was held in ZOOM and there was a group of 8 members and a topic was given to us by the faculty panel for discussion. Each individual had 2 to 3 minutes to talk about the topic in detail. One needs to be well prepared with static general knowledge, current affairs and have the ability to speak more in a limited time. The final round was the Interview round where there is a SIDTM faculty panel of 3 teachers who assessed me on my academics, hobbies, and any projects. Be confident and calm to do well here in this round.

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
