Remarks
You have to appear for JEE-Mains to take admission in NIT Raipur, eligibility of the exam is you are 12th passed with a minimum of 75% for OBC and general, 65% for others. There are reservations basis on home state and other state quotes. The admission process is very smooth and flexible with online features except documents verification is done offline at the nearest centre. In last years due to covid, the documents verification process is also done online. I want to suggest that the documents verification mode should be done online after the covid also.
Course Curriculum Overview
The mining branch in nit Raipur is the oldest and very famous and there is great scope of mining in India. There are almost 10 students per batch to 1 teacher. Teachers are very qualified and experienced concerning teaching and also industry knowledge and very supportive. There is 2 internal exam in one semester and the last end semester exam is there. If you go to college and attain daily lectures and spent little time every day you should easily pass the exam.
Internships Opportunities
There are internship opportunities from SECL, WCL, MCL, CIMFR and Tata. We have to do a systematic analysis of their mines so that we can improve their production and try to reduce the cost of mining. Different years different projects are offered by different companies.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible to participate in the placement procedure after the 6th sem but in some companies also 5th sem students are allowed. the companies visited for mining branch are Tata, coal India, Vedanta, Adani, Ambuja cement, Prism cement, Orica Mining. Mining students also got placement in IT fields with companies like TCS, Zs, Wipro, Kantar etc. Mining students get an average package of 8LPA with the highest 12 to lowest range 6.5 LPA. approximately 70% of students get placed in Mining. I am going to join MNC.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a variety of fees structure for students based on income, based on caste. Like if Your family income is less than 1LPA you have to pay a minimum then between 1 LPA to 5 LPA and highest more than 5Lpa. You have to pay hostel fees separately. There are two scholarships I know that are national and state. you have to apply for that separately and the college will approve this scholarship.
Campus Life
There are multiple clubs, communities and organizations. Events occur very frequently here like in a week. some are Vigyan, robotics club, Sourya, Nrityam, Uba and many more. there is a big library with lots of research papers, journals and books. Here digital library is also there. Multiple extracurricular activities like a sports competition, dance competition, music, live show, acting, hacking, machine designing etc.
