College management is excellent and even though it's a government college,yet the office staff are excellent and quite efficient in their works. Any work which is to be done by the office staff could be done easily. The management is very reliable and listens to all the demands of the students are they make sure that they are met very soon.

There is no entrance exam for admission to this college. It is strictly done on the basis of marks achieved by the student in their class 12 boards examination. There are methods to calculate the merit marks of a student, usually the total marks achieved by the student in best four subjects and the subject opted for the Hons course is added and final merit marks is calculated. Then merit list is published accordingly and on the basis of that admission is done. I chose this college as the faculties are one of the best of the city and the college stands off from the crowd by being the best under the Calcutta university.

Course curriculum is excellent as expected. The course structure is pretty much the same for every college under the specific university. Yet there is ample of scope for reasearch as there are a variety of collection of textbooks and reference books in the libraries.

There is no so called internships but the college provides scholarships for deserving students. Morover there are options for job after graduation as campusing is provided by the college.

Placement is quite good and the college provides notification prior to the campusing events. Morover the college provides special classes for competitive exams as well. There are technical courses which are provided by the college as well. Basically the corporate companies visit for the campusing events and they offer a handy salary for the one's joining them. The Salary varies according to the posts and the companies as well."

Programs like the celebration of Independence day, Republic day are held with pomp and show. Apart from it the college helds a talent hunt programme to showcase the talents hidden under the common faces of the college. There also is a cooking programme for the young Master Chef. Sports such as football and cricket and indoor games are also held. Apart from all these we have the fresher's programme in honour of the newcomers. Morover the college encourages us to take part in inter college competition and fests.

Being a govt college the fee structure is very less. Pocket pinch for courses costs only a few thousand for the whole year. For English hons course an annual fees tend to cost around 3000 rupees including every charges from library fee to student welfare fee to maintainance fee. The fees for the b.sc courses are a bit more as compared to the ones of b.a course as the laboratory fees are added in them. But overall it is feasible for common students. Morover special concession are provided for the ones who are financially not too much strong.

The college provides scholarships for deserving students. It is strictly based on merit and the financial condition of the students.

Hostel is on the second campus at Bhasa a place on the outskirts of the city . Lodging facilities are pretty decent over there and fooding is also done quite well. The expenditure is also very nominal over there. In addition there is a canteen at the college and a variety of food items are provided at nominal amount.

The alumni is very strong. With the passed out students always coming to help us in times of need. Morover they try to attend each and every programmes held by the college and skillfully guides us in conducting programmes.

The annual exams are conducted as per the university dates, which consists of the two honours paper and the subjects of pass . The examination of compulsory subjects too have to be given,which is usually held in the month of February,failing which the student has to go through another year of the same course at the same class. Apart from which half yearly exams as well as a mock test prior to the university exam is also held to know the progress of the students. Class tests are also held by the teachers.

The faculty members are highly qualified professionals. Yet they are very down to earth and can blend pretty well with the students to make sure the course is interesting. They are very regular to class and take keen interest to implement the subject very well into us.
