The Promising Faculty and Fun Life at KEC, Ghaziabad!

The eligibility of the courses offered in the college is passing (10+2) with any recognized board of examination as prescribed by AKTU since the college works the instructions of AKTU (formerly UPTU). The applicants can apply for 1st-year admission directly after passing (10+2) or can get a seat reserved via councelling through UPCET. There is another option of getting lateral entry in 2nd year on qualifying diploma courses. There are reserved seats too with special quotas like EWS, SC/ST, OBC, etc who get the benefit of extra scholarships through the AKTU Scholarship Scheme and AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme. In my opinion, the admission process is seamless as of now and requires not many improvements to be considered; PS: The details of the admission process when started are notified frequently on official college social media handles. There is a minimum token amount taken during the application process which is considered in fees and is refundable on opting out of college.

The course chosen is CS(AIML) to be precise and was my first choice of preference because of the increasing scope of AI and ML in the market and is new to be offered for many colleges and universities. The faculty: student is quite up to the mark as there are 2 teachers responsible for the performance of students in the class (1: Proctor & 2: Mentor) with a divided set of students for both. All teachers are highly qualified with Ph.D.'s completed and having or currently pursuing doctorate degrees from esteemed organizations. Having knowledge is one thing and giving knowledge to others is completely another task but the teachers are capable of building concepts for students. However, some students are there to disturb the class always despite that the students are able to grasp the concepts just by listening to professors. The CTs are conducted at a frequency of 2-3 weeks to test the knowledge which is easy to pass if you have listened to teachers after which extra classes are conducted.

The internships are started from the 4th semester but any interested student can opt for off-campus internships on their own and the faculty is definitely helpful in providing tech support and guidance to any task and project as required to fulfill the needs of the internship provider. The faculty promises to provide all kinds of facilities as needed by a student including extra classes for logical development and GATE preparations too.

Approx 85% of students have been placed in the 7th semester this year with the highest package ranging at 12 lacs and an average package ranging from 6-8 lacs. The top recruitments are made by IBM, Mothersumi, TCS, Nagarro, Nucleus Softwares. Even Adobe was once the part of campus drive with an average package of 30lacs/- but no student could grab the opportunity of their own will. As heard from seniors, maximum students have 2-3 job letters already in their 7th semester itself. The packages offered can not be compared to IIT's but the quality of faculty in terms of responsibility towards any student is definitely high in my opinion. The college aims to make students Job Providers, not Job Seekers.

The fee was originally 1.1lacs/- which was lowered to 98K/- for 1st-year students in 2021 on the view of the covid situation which can be considered to show not so selfish attitude of the management of the college. The management is very helpful and frequent in giving information about various schemes and scholarships like the AICTE Pragati Scholarships (for girls) & the AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme (for specially-abled). The college even has various events with high cash prizes like up to 50000/- per event & it has its own IEDC and Entrepreneurship cell with the tie-up of MoE which provides funding to innovative business mindsets. The placement's campus drives are quite impressive as compared to many colleges which can be seen on the official site of the college.

The college organizes many fests like the Sports fest, Literary fests named 'LIT-O-SPHERE', Technical Fests, Regal fest, Idea Pitchings, and many more very often to outshine & improve the quality of students in life as well as the corporate world. It bears a library with a large variety of books to be read including courses and extra books with non-fiction genres too. The classrooms are well-equipped with all working appliances with at least 2 ACs in each room and a projector having lectern support and a quick response team which really works on time as complained. There are various sports indoor and outdoor like Volleyball, Basketball, Chess, Badminton, Football, Cricket, etc. There are many societies too like Dramatics, Literary, Regal society, etc. The events are mostly conducted with help of interested coordinators and the FB Page named 'Regal Society of KEC' is run by students itself.
