Remarks
I joined this college through Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) which is applicable to students who pursued 3 years diploma course after their 10th. Cut-off marks for SNIST for mechanical engineering for BC-B boys is 139 branch rank and for girls 1550 branch rank. Every year ECET exam is held march/april and students can apply for it from ecet.tsche.ac.in official site. After getting ECET results, the certificate verification and web options are held by the board at every district. After completing above process , you will be allotted to a college according to your rank, branch and reservation. Keeping web options is crucial part to get seat in the better college and into a better course. If you are alloted into SNIST, come to clg on the dates provided by the board and provide you certificates to the college. College asks you to pay additional charges for college dresses, placement training to confirm your seat in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Mechanical Engineering because of my interest in machines and automobiles. As SNIST is a autonomous college(maybe a university my the time you are reading this ) curriculum is managed by the college under the guidance of JNTU. Mechanical branch has 35 lecturers for all four years of students, which is really a good ratio. Faculty is really good , very supportive and friendly. Few lecturers will teach you practically by showing you the machine parts which makes you understand the subject very well. Qualifying in exams is not difficult if you atleast keep some interest in studies. Every year has 2 semesters, each semester has 2 mid term exams and lab internals and external for semester.
Internships Opportunities
SNIST - Mech provides you internships in companies like Fusion360 and 3d printing. Stipend is not offered by the companies which are provided by the college. Fusion360 internship is provided directly from the Autodesk which will be helpful for building a good resume
Placement Experience
Campus placements are provided for the students after the completion of third year second semester. Every year around 1000 students get placed into companies , which is really a good number. Around 20 companies come to collge to recruit students.
Fees and Financial Aid
My academic fee for studying for one year in this college is 130000(excluding JNTU and exam fees) which might increase in next years. The financial year of the college is April-march. So students are asked to pay a fee in April for next year. In campus placements, top companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture recruit students from this college. Core companies like Medha servo, Ashok Leyland recruit students. If students are interested in getting recruited into companies then SNIST is one of the best colleges to join.
Campus Life
SNIST is a college covered in a large area. As the college is far from the city and noise, the campus is peaceful from city noises and disturbances. There are many clubs in college like SAE, photography club, art club, tech vision club, robotics club, CAD club, IEEE, NSS, NCC. Every year Sreevision is held in college. Sreevision is South India's biggest fest held for one week. Intercollege sports competition is held in college and prizes will be given to the winners.
