Remarks
I gave the CGPET i.e. Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test and the application form would be available on the vyapam website. However, counselling would be done through the CGDTE website. For counselling one first has to get their documents verified in the Document Verification Centres (DVC), the DVC list would be available on the CGDTE website. After that, there will be 3 rounds of counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since BIT Durg is an autonomous college so we have constant updates in our curriculum, Unlike other institutions we have projects coming up in the 3rd sem, which is a great feature for our improvement. Also, it also depends upon what you can take from the teachers, they will be helpful to you if you seek help, they hold a deep knowledge of their fields. There are some teachers with whom one must know how properly to deal with.
Internships Opportunities
Few people do get internship opportunities in the 3rd year. The college also had two international student exchange events, one in China and one in a country in Europe. Some students have designed the software and some have doing some projects, the college now is building an idea lab which would be on 24/7 for students to manifest their ideas. So many good projects will now have the opportunity to get executed.
Placement Experience
The placements are decent. Some companies take mass recruitment. But if you do well in your four years and make something good out of it, you have the chance to get a good placement above 6 LPA, some get even 14 LPA. A lot of people here focus rather on M.TECH and preparing for the GATE exam. Around 50% get placed but keep in mind students of CS/IT here have GATE as their goals so they choose to not get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are government scholarships for SC/ST/OBC candidates and a private scholarship for all eligible good performing students ( don't know a lot about this one ). The college has a good system for this place, they update their data pretty fast.
Campus Life
College life is very good here. Especially this is ragging free, you would have to call your seniors Sir/Madam but that's it. The anti ragging committee is very serious in the college. Most seniors are good here and helpful, very rare are exceptions. There is the study priority thing in the first year. There is a variety of clubs in the college for almost everything. Some clubs even recruit from the first year. However, some clubs start recruitment in the second year. The tech fest OJAS is awesome here. The central library is very beneficial for studies, you won't need to buy books there is enough material in the college library. Although that's all academic stuff, there is no fiction books or novel books for book lovers here. The classrooms are normal as they are in school. Some labs have air conditioners. Sports are generally played after the first year. Every year inter branch tournament takes place for all sports, cricket, volleyball, basketball etc.
