Veterinary Science is related to the medical speciality concerned with the health of domestic and wild animals. It teaches people to prevent the transmission of animal diseases to people. GBPUAT offers this BVSc course to produce some experts in this field.
Course Curriculum Overview
Veterinary curriculum is taught in English language. It emphasizes on logical and scientific habits of animals, clarity of expression etc. Subjects that are covered in BVSc and A.H degree course, are Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Psychology, Animal Nutrition, Animal genetics and breeding, Veterinary medicine etc. Students have to complete the syllabus of total 179 credits per hour in each semester.
Placement Experience
It is a good college that shows satisfactory results about placement. About 20% of the students start their career as animal doctor. The highest package ranges from Rs 8 lacs - 10 lacs and the lowest package is Rs 3 lacs. Recruiters include Parle, NSC, Perfetti and many agricultural farm sectors etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tuition fee is taken as Rs 47,115 each year for five years duration. The examination fee is Rs 2,000 each year. Other expenses fee is Rs 8,324 for the first year and for the rest of the year, it is taken as Rs 4,074.
Fees and Financial Aid
Asha Kiran Scholarship is given to the UG students of the institute and merit scholarships are given to the top scorers of the institute. Indian Herb scholarship, Monsanto scholarship, Smt. Chandramukhi memorial scholarships etc are given to the students.
Campus Life
The college campus is safe and peaceful. Among infrastructures library, labs, CCF offices etc are available for the students. The cafeteria is hygienic and well decorated.
Hostel Facilities
There are 23 hostels at the university. Among them, 7 are for girls, 2 for married couples and one for working women. The hostel fee is Rs 10,000 per year.
Admission
Aspirants who are seeking this five years full time BVSc program must have a 10+2 pass mark sheet with PCM subjects, Biology, English. Minimum 50% marks in aggregate have to be maintained.
