Remarks
The admission process is directly based on the merit lists. College creates merit lists based on the board final exams of class 12. You must have good marks in your 12 science groups. Especially if you want to take honours in chemistry minimum of 75-80% marks is needed in class 12. Alongside you need a decent mark in Mathematics & Physics. However, a college merit list will be created based on the best 4 subject marks. So the best of 4 subject marks should be a minimum of 75% to get a chance The application form is given on the official website. You have to fill the form with all the necessary documents. And there is some reserved seat for minority students. Application dates usually vary. You have to keep an eye on their website.
Course Curriculum Overview
I want to research organic chemistry and want to be a professor of chemistry. That's why I have chosen chemistry honours. We had 36 students in total & 5 professors. So the student-faculty ratio is 7 students for every one professor. Exams were not very difficult to pass. All of our professors have done Ph.D. and they are highly qualified. They used to take a lot of practical classes. We have learned so many practical things in chemistry. We had one main exam every year. You have to get a minimum of 35% on each paper to qualify for next year.
Fees and Financial Aid
In our Government, college fees are very low in general. The admission fee was Rs 2600 and for the 2nd and 3rd-year cost is Rs 1650. The total cost of the study is Rs 6000 approx. The college fee does not increase normally. And we don't have any other extra fees for different programs. College does not give any support financially. But we have several scholarships available like Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, OASIS scholarship. For girls, there is a Kanyashree scholarship. As this is not an engineering college no job placement is offered from college.
Campus Life
We have a few cultural programs which are organized in our college. Some festivals like Saraswati puja book fair & teachers day happened here. Our classrooms are medium in size and our practical classroom for chemistry was very big with all the necessary equipment. Our library room was very big. Almost every kind of book was available there. Annual sports activity was organized in winter every year. There is a small student Union group in our college.
