Remarks
All the students who passed class12th with a minimum of 60% marks from the science stream are eligible to give NEET. Admission into this college is based on the NEET all India rank and state rank. After the results of neet is declared Assam medical council releases a state merit list and admission is based on that merit list. There is a reservation for EWS, SC, ST, OBC students. Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course because I want to be a good doctor. This college is near to my hometown. The student-faculty ratio is 150:25. All the faculties are already passed doctors so they very well in teaching, they teach us in projector board. Professors are very helpful. Sometimes they give extra time to solve our doubt. After every 3 month they conduct semester exams and after completion of the session, they conduct University exams also known as professional exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it is a government college so fees are affordable. During the first admission, I paid around Rs 30k. The books are very costly. We have to buy dresses and aprons with our own money. Outside foods are very costly. On an average per month, expenditure is around 7k including our own expenditure. I do get a scholarship from the NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PORTAL UNDER ISHAN UDAY program of India. It pays 78k per year for students.
Campus Life
The annual fest name is Medifest, they are conducted in the month of September. Almost all medical books, many magazines, every day newspapers are available in the library. During college, students unions conduct various competitions like sports, song, dance, etc. During the annual fest, we do call Bollywood stars for singing on the stage. The enjoyment of that night is priceless. This college has every type of facility.
Hostel Facilities
This college has a separate hostel for boys and girls. Both double room and single room are available. Also common is there for all. Hostels are very clean. In the mess, they provide meals 3 times a day and dinner is very tasty especially on Monday or Thursday. The hostel is allotted from college based on neet state rank and distance of students home town from college. Nearby pg and rented rooms are available at a low cost.
