For Applying in UIET you need to appear in the JEE entrace examination , as there is not external examination conducted here, counselling is done on the basis of JEE Mains score and rank of the student Everything is available on the JAC chandigarh site , you can register and wait for the counselling process. Entire counselling procedure is available on the site and on UIET's site too. UIET gives alot of reservation , along with thd single girl child , some army background related , also for people who did their schooling from rural areas along with financially struggling students , there are set criteria and seats for each which you can find on the site

I wanted to do something in the tech field so Computer Science and Information and Technology were my priority ,, since I couldn't get a seat for Computer Science i was very much fine and satisfied with seat in Information and Technology! You will be divided in sections based on your class strength. There are highly experienced faculty and also phD students that will be teaching you in the first-second year. The faculty is quite dedicated and will prepare you for placements as well as further studies. There are two minors conducted that hold 25% of our weightage then one major exam and practicals . Best of the two minor are chosen as final . Exams are quite regular

Decent companies come to the University Institute of Technology, Chandigarh. You can get internships based on your knowledge and skills and projects. The project in your final years holds alot of importance and hence should be your best work

We have a training and placements cell dedicated in our college to bring companies to Uiet , in the past companies like Microsoft have also come. 95% of the students from IT/CS get placements. The ratio of tech-related companies coming for placements is comparatively way more like for any other college. The highest was around 30lpa (off campus) whereas 7lpa was average for IT students

The fees for UIET is pretty low as compared to other engineering colleges and on that basis it provides decent opportunities, faculty, and placements. The fees has been increased last year, it will cost around 5-6 lakhs including hostel fees , to finish four year course in UIET . There are alot of clubs in Uiet plus since it is under Punjab University, students can also take benefit of that and be a part of them. There is an annual fest for each club, including a tech fest and a fest for startup enthusiasts. The Joshi library is one of the biggest libraries in Chandigarh and has ample books There is a sports club and a lot of sports activities on uiet, we also have clubs for dance, acting, singing, poetry and latest for standup comedians! It is a wonderful place We have a club called Mitra which is a help organization, meant to help and raise fund for social issues. Also, have a debating society. Being in the heart of Chandigarh definitely serves its benefits, Chandigarh being a city of life adds some color to the life of students too. There are clubs, cafes, gardens and various tourist spots for students to go out for recreational activities and have fun!
