UIET Chandigarh Honest review

For getting admission to UIET Punjab University you must have passed 10 and 10+2. After passing your 10+2 you should appear for national level engineering exams i.e.jee the mains exams. After this, you need to participate in JAC Chandigarh counseling and just wait for the counseling results. If you got a rank of around 40000 you can get the BE IT, if even better than BE CSE. Overall the admission process is very easy and transparent.

I choose IT because I like coding. Moreover, in today's time, the IT sector seems to be the greatest job-producing sector. The student-to-teacher ratio is decent i.e. 60:1. All the teachers here are highly qualified and have a huge experience in their field with many of them holding Ph.D. degrees. All the exams here are conducted timely and results are also out on time. Here we have two internal or minor exams (30 marks) with one Final or major exam for each semester(50 marks) and the rest 20 marks for practicals and assignments. For the final evaluation best of the two minors is considered with one major and other practical and assignment work.

Internship opportunities here are not good enough. If you are lucky you can get an internship opportunity from college. otherwise, you have to find it on yours. If you are from the biotech, mech, or electrical department then an internship opportunity for you is nill.

The students here are placed in 7 seventh semester. The placement here are good for CS, IT and ECE branch with 80 to 90% of students getting placed from IT and CS branch and 70-80% from ECE.For rest of the branch placements are not good enough .Some companies which participate in our placement drive are amazon , KPMG , Deloitte , American express , cognizant.Around 315 got placed for the 2019-2020 session and 303 for 2020-2021 session with average package of 6.96 LPA for the session 2020-2021. After getting the degree i wish to get placed in a good company with descent package.

For BE course the fee per year is 99324. Which is decent enough for everyone to afford. You can pay the fees in 4 equal installments. There is no fee hikes policy and it will remain the same for the next 4 years.I haven't applied for any scholarships. There are many government scholarships and other scholarships based on your merit and marks details of which can be found on the Punjab University website and UIET, Chandigarh website.

The annual cultural and tech fest of UIET is goonj which is usually conducted in the month of April. Due to Covid, there was no such fest last year. Since UIET is one the biggest institute of Punjab University we have access to PU's main library A.C. Joshi Library which is Fully Air-conditioned with a huge collection of 6 lakh books.If you are good at sports then PU provides you with the best facilities and training to compete at various universities as well institute level competition. Adding to these we have many clubs and societies like Psych club, Entrepreneurship development cell, and many others.
