Remarks

Overall in a nutshell, for studying medicine, BJMC is a college one cannot overlook. After some central colleges, this college gets its place among the topmost medical schools of the country.

Entrance Preview

I didn't took any entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Pursuing MBBS from this college is something which not everyone is lucky to. Only the creamy bunch of toppers get through the selection process. The college provides best infrastructures and latest equipment as per guidelines of medical council, be it the lecture theatres, to the experiment labs. Adding to it, the continuous up-gradation of the instruments makes it possible for the students to stay in touch with recent advancements in medical field.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides 12 months mandatory internship as per directives of MCI, in the Civil Hospital, that is attached to the college. The stipend is 10,600 INR per month. Overall the experience is excellent working here.

Placement Experience

4.5

Being a medical college, there is no placement as such. But the medical graduates from here are given preference all over India, over other colleges. The reputation of BJMC is countrywide. The work experience one gains from here, makes him able to become a great doctor in the future.

College Events

3.5

The college annually celebrates its fest, known as BJ Beats, which takes place over a period of 4 days. A lot if events and sport competition are always held where participants from all over the state take part. Equally, the famous Garba Nights are one of the events being celebrated, keeping in view the cultural aspect of the State.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very much affordable, with a sum of rupees 6000 per annum. Being a Government College, the fee is bound to be kept low. Adding to it, the facilities being provided is just extraordinary. The 5.5 year course of MBBS costs around 30k plus minimal extra charges anounting a total of not more than 10k over a period of whole study.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides free books to Scheduled Tribe students and also provides scholarship to them over an annual basis.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is chill, with all the outdoor games available to refresh the tired mind after the lectures.Gender ratio is almost 1:1. The college fest, BJ Beats takes place every year around July. Alongwith, there are regular workshops and meetings being organised.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel rooms are very well maintained with accomodation of 2 people per room. Daily cleanliness is taken care of, specially the toilets and washrooms. Mess food is not the same as food one uses to eat at home, though it is nutritious and fresh. The combined rental of hostel is 1200 per annum and that of mess is around 2000 per month.

Alumni/Alumna

The BJ Medical College has its separate alumni cell, and the alumni meet takes place annually. The seniors are very helpful and understanding.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is every six months, alongwith university exams at 1 year, 2.5 years, 3.5 years and 4.5 years. The college conducts internal exams regularly to access the progress of the students, with detailed evaluation. Alongwith theories, practicals contribute 50% of the total marks. Multiple choice questions are also conducted as separate exams online as well as in mcq labs.

Faculty

4

Faculty here, be in any department, is very student friendly. They take care of the students, at an individual level, so that one can optimise his performance, and excel in their fields. Teachers are very cooperative and the batches are split in smaller groups for a better teacher to student ratio. Thus, every student is taken care of. Plus, there are group discussions also conducted, where we take an active part
