Remarks
It is the oldest medical college in Assam. It is located in the Dibrugarh district of Assam. The admission is based upon the state merit list prepared by the director of medical education Assam after the neet result is declared. There is a reservation for ST, SC, EWS, OBC students. The admission form and counselling form is available on the official website of the director of medical education. Counselling is usually done during July or August month.
Course Curriculum Overview
MBBS is the most reputed and professional course in India. As soon as we finish the internship we get a job easily. So I choose this course. All the faculties are doctors, they are experienced. They teach both theory and practical. Students were divided into small groups and sent for clinical posting in every department. Semester exams are conducted by the college and final exams are under the surveillance of the University and NMC.
Fees and Financial Aid
Compare to private medical College, the fees of our college is very less. Fees are affordable for all the students. We also have to pay extra money for books, notebooks, practical logbooks. The total cost of the entire course is around 1.5lakh. We do get scholarships from governments like the ministry of minority and non-government organisations like the Ajmal foundation.
Campus Life
Every year college week and the annual fest is held by the students union team. During college, they conduct various extracurricular activities competitions like sports, dance, songs. The winner gets prizes from the principal sir during the final day of college week. During annual they call DJ, some stars of Bollywood. Our library is very clean and it is in silent places, all the medical books are available. We do get a daily newspapers also.
Hostel Facilities
I opted for a hostel. Electricity and water are available 24 hours we have both double and single rooms. I stay in single it's much more comfortable than a double room. Every month we have to pay Rs 2000 for the mess. In the mess, they provide fish, chicken, paneer, eggs regularly. The hostel is allotted from college based on neet scores. Nearby PG and rented rooms are not available easily. They are costly.
