Remarks
The admission process was smooth up till, the counselling. Students have to go to the university's official website and fill the form for the entrance exam which is for 200 marks. As per my knowledge of this year, the pattern has changed and the paper is of 450 marks. In the year I took admission the course examination was taken annually but now it has changed to a semester pattern. The application cost is minimal for every subject that you fill in the form for you will be charged 500-600 per subject (Considering the changes over the years). After the form is filled, the admit card is available to students just 15 days before the commencement of the entrance exam. After the exam, it takes another one month or 45 days for the university to release the official result. After the results, a cutoff list is prepared (which are 3 in number) whatever list you fall into, you will be called off for the counselling by the university through text messages on mail as well as on registered mobile no.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite interesting it contains all the important topics taught in various top faculties of different universities that offer the same course. I chose BA (Eng Hons) as I am very passionate about reading, writing and exploring the English language and literature. The student ratio is like 1:1. The faculty members as of my knowledge are not very celebrated. Most of them are assistant professors having average knowledge regarding the subject and field of study. The faculty only contain 1-2 professors with the knowledge that may add value to the students' life. The university lacks modern technology used for a better understanding of students. Still, the blackboard style of teaching is taught. The majority of times the faculty professors are on leave and because of this the course is completed in a hurry or remains incomplete. The exams are taken on time, but they can be delayed due to the recent pandemic situation. The examination pattern is average - hard in level.
Placement Experience
Students can take up placements offered by the placement cell in the last year of their respective courses. Many small companies come for taking up students in various general roles like marketing, PR and executive. There are a very small number of offers made as a very small number of students take up placements. The highest placement a student in an academic year with decent knowledge may get is 40,000 Rs. The average salary offered by the companies to the students ranges from 10-15000 depending upon the course they've completed. Minimally 10-15% of the students only get placed through the placement cell of the university. After the graduation degree, I'm going to opt for a master's degree in English literature from BHU or DU.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure of the college is very apt and minimal considering the fess of other universities for the same course. Over a course of 5-6 years the fees is increased by 300-400 rupees. Taking all the cost into consideration like college fees, library fees, hostel charge, mess charge, book's cost and other living expenses, it costs around 40,000 rupees. Scholarhip is offered to students by UP scholarhip scheme which can make up for most of your college tuition fees. Financial aid is provided to students with certain students with disabilities by the UP government itself. Job placement cell is not that good but does the job. They bring in small companies and if you certain qualities considering the company demands, they place students for a job of upto 30-40,000 Rs. I didn't applied for a job placement and hence, I don't know about the stipend and things. But I did an internship out of the college based on content writing, which paid me a stipend of 10,000 Rs
Campus Life
There are no tech and cultural fests happening in the university as it is a U.P based State University. Besides regional and national level sports programmes keep happening time-to-time. The Library is quite old as considered as compared to today's time. They are very few chances that you may find the right course book of yours at the right time when you need them. Moreover, you cannot expect to have recently released fictional or non-fiction books over there. Journals are available in very few numbers. All the amenities that a general classroom in a school would offer are here despite you can't expect to have smart classrooms with modern technology for studies here. There are no social groups, clubs or websites run by students, for students. The university students are more fixated on and have more interest in student's election and union, which toxicants the university's environment and causes problems in studies for students.
