Admission occurs during July last week and is a one-day process and the session starts from the 1st of August. The admission process is quite easy but counseling is quite tedious. Students must pass class 12 with a minimum of 60% marks from the science stream. A certain number of seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC, EWS.
Course Curriculum Overview
I want to become a doctor that's why I choose mbbs course in this college. The Course Curriculum and Exam structure are set by the National medical council. It's a 4.5 years course+1 year internship +1 year rural posting. We have regular internal exams but the university exams occur at the end of the 2nd semester, 5th semester, 7th semester, and 9th semester. Initially, the course is theory-based but later is more of a practical approach with quite enough clinical exposure and patient interactions. All faculties are expert and well trained.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are quite feasible. Being a government medical college, we don't have to spend a lot. Annually we pay 10k as fees. But for hostel boarders, it's an additional 2200 per month for accommodation and mess. No additional fees are taken by the college. Complete transparency in fee breakdown. I do get a scholarship incentive of Rs 78000 per year from ISHAN UDAYN SCHEMES.
Campus Life
The symphysis is the annual fest of our college. Campus life is above average. We don't have a large campus, although large enough for a nice evening stroll. The campus is clean and has quite a lot of greenery. Fresh air really adds up. The gender ratio is surprisingly good. Male: female ratio must be around 1.5:1. Quite a lot of extra-co curricular are done in the college throughout the year as a stress reliever for the students. Workshops are organized frequently. There is no gender discrimination and no one is biased. Discrimination based on religion, race, caste, economic status is also not prevalent. People are busy enough with their studies and busy schedule.
Hostel Facilities
I am living in hostel. The hostels are neat and clean with attached bathrooms and are really quite spacious. We stay 3 in a room. 24 hour electricity and water is provided. The mess food is also above average. They provide both non vegetarian and vegetarians food. Nearby pg and rented rooms available.
