If you want to study microbiology here the minimum eligibility criteria here is that you have passed with 40% marks in the science stream. And you must have biology in the science stream. Then you can apply here for microbiology. However here the admission process is merit-based. So if you got a higher percentage of marks you are more likely to get admission here. From my experience, if you belong to the general category you need over 80-85% marks to be on the merit lists. But if you are from minority candidates you may get a chance with 70-80% marks. For minority candidates, some seats are reserved. You can find the application form on the college website and the admission fee was approximately Rs 3000 in our time

I had an interest in Biology and I have got good marks in Biology. I want to research the prevention, diagnosis & control of infection & specific diseases. So I have selected this course. We have a total of 58 seats available in our microbiology department and we have 6 professors of microbiology. So the student-faculty ratio is quite satisfactory. Our professor sir & ma'am teaches us very well. They are very friendly with students and always keen to give us deep knowledge. They have taken regular practical classes which were important. We had one main exam every year. So we had to give a total of 3 exams in 3 years to be graduated. Exams were fair standard to pass.

The cost of study in our college is affordable. The admission fee is approximately Rs 2500. And the next year the fee also varies between Rs 1500-2500. So the total cost of the study is around Rs7k-8k. College does provide financial help to needy students. And you can apply for many scholarships. Both boys & girls students can apply for SVMCM scholarships which pay Rs 24000-30000 per year. Kanyasshree scholarships are available only for girls. If you want to renew scholarships you have to get 60% marks for SVMCM and 45% marks for K2 scholarships. And if you have a caste certificate you can apply for OASIS scholarships which are around Rs 5000 per year.

Our college campus is awesome. We have a beautiful garden with beautiful flowers and plants in front of our college. And the whole campus is full of green trees. So fresh air everywhere. Many cultural programs & festivals are organized all year round. Especially in winter, big festivals are organized. And Saraswati puja, Netaji, Rabindra Jayanti, Teacher's day, etc were celebrated every year. Our classrooms are neither big nor small. They are kept clean. We have a huge library in our college and you can find all the department books there. We have annual sports programs every year. High jump, long jump, cricket, running, and many other sports activities were organized
