The course eligibility is based on your higher secondary marks. If you pass your higher secondary with a minimum of 45% of marks and you have physics among the subjects in your class 12 you can apply here. As college does not take any admission test the whole process is merit-based and the merit list is created based on the marks of class 12 and they also see the marks in your secondary class 10) exams. Course Curriculum Overview
When I took science at 11 I start enjoying reading physics most. It was the most interesting subject for me. So I have got good marks in physics in the higher secondary exams. I have chosen this course because I want to know this subject very deeply. We have a total of six professors in our college. Three of them have done PhD in their field. But all of our professors are amazing. They have taken regular classes and practical classes too. We have good practical rooms and our professors teach all of the practical classes with a lot of enthusiasm. In a pandemic situation, they have taken online classes too. We have two semesters every year and 6 semesters in total. Exams were not very difficult to pass at first but last as the paper increases the difficulty level also increases.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of studying in a government college is the bare minimum. You have to pay the admission fee which is Rs 1700. And in our college, I have seen from new batches that the fee does not increase. Its very negligible amount may increase every year. For every odd semester like 3rd and fifth, we have to pay the admission fee which is between 1200-2000. The scholarships are available for good students who got at least 60% marks in the first two semesters. Swami Vivekanda Scholarships, Tanushree scholarships, Oasis, Tata, Jindal, etc available for students.
Campus Life
Our college does not organize any cultural programs like fresher's welcome and cultural fest. But in our department, we have celebrated Teacher's day. We have a seminar where physics professors from other universities came to our college and teach us many things. We have celebrated Saraswati puja in our college. We did not have any campus in our college. However, we have the Taki Ichamoti River within 700 meters of our college. Our classrooms are clean but old-fashioned. Some of them are very big. We did not have many sports activities in our college. We have a good library room. probably the best thing about our college is our library room. We have an active student union group.
