There will be 2 minors and 1 major in a semester. The course curriculum is quite good. You will start programming from 1st semester as it is included in 1st sem. The semester exams are generally easy as exams are going online. Its not that tough if one gives attention to the classes, they can get good cgpa.

You can get internship in average companies but for good companies you have to apply for off campus. If you are getting internship from college, they generally pay less stipend and sometimes no stipend as well. You can make projects for good internship. Many students got internship in Amazon, Delloite etc.

There are 121 students in IT branch and the number of placements in the year 2021-22 is 96 out of 121. Highest package was of 29lpa from google by off campus placement and 4 students got 31 lpa from amazon on-campus placement. The average placement has slightly increased from 6.35lpa to 6.45lpa. Top recruiters are amazon, paytm, deloitte, cognizant, infosys, zs scaler.. Many students get internships but for good companies student generally apply off campus. Some of the roles are data analyst, software developer, web developer.

Campus life is awesome here. You can also visit Punjab university's main campus, it is big. Our annual fest is Goonj. It generally happens in the month of Feb or March. You can visit uiet library as well as pu Library i.e AC Joshi library. Here you can get a wide range of books. Classrooms are good, as it is a government college you can say its average. There is a sports club, you can join that club for sports. You can play football, cricket, and many other games as well. There are lots of clubs in uiet and most of them run by students like BPC(Brand promotion committee), DCU(Dance club of uiet), etc.

There is a canteen on the campus where most students enjoy quality time. There are 8 boys hostels and 10 girls hostels. But these are for all students of PU. So, there are very few seats left for UIET. It is very difficult to get hostels here. There is a bed, an almirah, chair, and table. Rooms are of average size, mostly 2 students per room can stay. The quality of food is average for some hostels but some hostels are good as well. The administration will tell you all about the process. There are pg and private hostels in the locality of uiet in affordable price. So you can get there if you couldn't get uiet hostel.
