Remarks
I got admission to JSS Noida through UPSEE counseling. I got 408 marks in uptu exam with a rank of 1216. Cutoffs for the course of BTech in the information technology department were around the rank 1000-2000 with 6 fee waiver seats. You can find the application form on the official website of aktu.ac.in and fees for the application form is around 350 INR. But from the year 2021, the admission is done on the score of JEE mains. Reservation benefits are availed. EWS has a great reservation in AKTU colleges.SC/ST/OBCs have separated but limited seats in AKTU colleges. The counseling process took almost 5 rounds for the final verdict. you have to submit 20000 INR when you are allotted a seat in any of your preferred colleges. This amount is NON-REFUNDABLE. I think some amount should be returned with some deductions.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opt for the IT department in BTech because I got FW(fee waiver) seat in this. The Faculty of IT department is quite good and chill out. They can help you out with exams, attendance issues but not with your placements. Many of the teachers are Ph.D. qualified but some of them have completed their masters only. In AKTU colleges 3 internals and 1 end semester exam were held. In this only any 2 internal exam is compulsory to be attempted. The difficulty of the exam is pretty average and can be cleared just studying a week before.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, the student is eligible for the campus placements. Companies like tcs, Wipro, adobe, Tech Mahindra, Infosys have visited us. Mostly the companies are mass recruiters. The highest package was grabbed by a girl from adobe of 44 lacs. average packages for computer branches are 4-5 lacs. Around 85% of students are placed in computer branches. I have decided to get work experience in some of the companies for some years and more skills sets.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the four years course of BTech. 1st year you have to submit around 1.4lacs in any of the branches. In the 2nd year fees is around 1.3lac. In the 3rd and 4th years, it is around 1.15 lacs. If you fail in any exam the re-exam costs you around 1000 for each subject you fail in your end sems. The fees have to be submitted on yearly basis. But if you have any financial issues you can submit them on a semester basis too. For the scholarships, you can apply for govt scholarships and national scholarships if you are eligible. College only provides you with Fee Waiver seats at the time of the counseling process. This will reduce your 4years fees of around 5lacs to around 80k-90k because all the tuition fees are waived off. Campus placements are pretty decent for the computer branches but you have to struggle if you are from other than computer branches.
Campus Life
The annual fest of Jss Noida is Zealicon. it is conducted in the month of October. We have a pretty decent library in the basement which makes it cool to study in summers. Classroom size is pretty huge and accommodates 60 students easily. The classrooms are provided with old-fashioned seats which are not comfortable at all. there is a whiteboard and a project which the teachers generally do not use to present the topics. There are various clubs in your college which is the only part of the college. You can get into any club of your choice which matches your interest and skills. Clubs like tech clubs, cultural clubs, sports clubs, and drama society too. You can check all of them over Instagram. DSC, ncs, mmil, impetus, ace, akshargyan are some of the clubs.
