Remarks
You have to be a Graduate of a recognized University. The application form starts by first filling the NMAT by GMAC application form, followed by filling the application form of SBM NMIMS on the official website of the university. The website consists of all important announcements and dates and is easy to access. This is followed by a written ability test and personal interview (both of which happen on the same date). The overall process is conducted in a smooth and robust manner.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose HR because I have a background in psychology and wanted to pursue a career in people management. The faculty student ratio is around 1:60. The faculty guides are very professional and teach us in a case study method to clariify our concepts, which is a very effective way of learning. The end term exams are conducted online, very professionaly and the difficulty level is moderate. No glitches in the portal have ever been seen by me.
Internships Opportunities
Our college's placement cell also ensures that all students get placed for the summer internship programme, which is scheduled for april and may of every year. The SIP Placements start in september and the entire batch gets placed by December. The average stipend for SIP is Rs 1.5 lakhs and the highest is Rs 2lakhs. The placements are conducted smoothly, and the recruiters range from E-commerce giants like amazon, Flipkart, to Online Education companies like unacademy and bijus. There is a diverse mix of recruiters who come here to recruit interns. Top performing ones also get PPO
Placement Experience
We are offerred full placements by our placement cell, which is very active. The higest CTC for MBA HR is around 21 Lakhs p.a. and the average package is 15 lakhs p.a. The top recruiters include EY, Accenture, Wipro, TCS, Reliance, Aditya Birla Group, Godrej, Nestle, Dabur India, Mahindra group, etc. The recruiters are diverse from Big 4, to fmcg giants, to IT stalwarts. You name it all, and they all come here to recruit talent. 100% of students get placed within almost 10 days after commencement of the placement seasonw hich is around November of every year. There are also PPO opportunities available to top performing candidates.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for MBA HR is around RS 11 lakhs p.a. The ROI is quite good considering the placements are also good. There are several corporate projects in-house in the campus where we can get ourselves enrolled in. The overall cost to study is well justified by the placements and infrastructure.
Campus Life
There are several fests and events conducted by the various cells and clubs of the college. They conduct events almost every month. Books and reference materials are made available to us online as well as offline, related to the course structure. Sports fests and cultural cells like dance clubs, music clubs, cultural events cell, social responsibility cell, finance cell, marketing cell, etc offer ample scope for students to engage in extra-curricular activities.
Interview Experience
There was a written ability test and a final PI after clearing the NMAT Cut off. Written ability test included very easy topics from the general perview of GK. The PI also included relatively easy questions about hobbies, interests, reason for choosing MBA and some technical questions related to academics. I prepared by taking coaching from recognized B school admission coaching centers to ace these rounds, and it helped me a lot.
