The Admission process was smooth, the Entrance exam to take admission in NMIMS is NMAT, which was conducted thrice in 2020, the application form can be found on the college website, and the application form fees was close to Rs 2500. the exam could be retaken in the window of three months. I did not take any reservation benefits. The safe cut-off is to have a score of 240 with 75+ in each section. After clearing the exam, we had a written ability test exam, where we were given current topics to analyze and give our point of view. the PI round was the last round, where they asked questions related to your background, hygiene ques and technical
Course Curriculum Overview
I am pursuing MBA in finance from NMIMS, Mumbai. the faculty ratio here is 1:20. Most of the teachers are Ph.D. nd industry experts. the pedagogy followed is relevant with the current industry requirements. the two years are divided into 6 trimesters. in each trimester we have mid term exams and final exams. This course includes 21 days NGO internship and 2 months of summer placement.
Internships Opportunities
Summer internships are available for the first year students, which is for a period of 2 months, conducted after the third trimester. Companies like, ITC, J&J, GS, Jubilant, Bosch, Bank of America, swiggy, Aditya birla, flipkart, crisil wipro, wipro cclg, etc come for placements. Average stipend goes for 70-80k, whereas highest stipend goes close to Rs1.5 lakhs
Placement Experience
Various companies like, Microsoft, Marico, GS, Bank of America, Google, Bain & Co., Reliance, Pepsico, ITC, etc visit the campus. the Average package is close to Rs 16 lakhs, with the highest being Rs 36 Lakhs. Most of the batch gets placed through the college placements. My plans are also to get placed through college itself, as top companies come here and offer good exposure.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of NMIMS if Rs. 11.95 Lakhs per year with a hike of Rs 50,000 each year. Over All as compared to other MBA colleges, it is expensive. their are scholraships available for students having annual income less than Rs. 8 lakhs. Various companies come for placements, with an average stipend of 1 lakh in summer placements.
Campus Life
there are various student run clubs and committees in NMIMS, student council, placement committee, Finomenon (finance), Not Just Marketing (Marketing), Optumiz (operations) then you have clubs for music, dance, fashion and photography there are cultural fests held by committees, such as Euphoria, Mr and Ms NMIMS etc There is a sports club as well, which is not active currently due to online classes being conducted. We have access to all the books, harvard articles, bloomberg terminal.
Interview Experience
The NMAT exam was followed by WAT and PI in the WAT, they checked your analytical skills by giving situational cases, for eg:- India banning the chinese products, and how it will impact the indian economy. The PI process was more of a conversation, where it started with hygiene questions, followed by technical questions from my academic background and ended with current affairs. you need to be well versed with current happenings and revise your college subjects.
