Honest Review

Firstly, a student is supposed to apply for NMAT by GMAC competitive test which usually starts in October month every year. The registration fee on the website is Rs.2500 and an additional Rs.2500 has to be paid to book a seat for giving the test. After the test, marks are displayed on the screen itself and after an hour or so, the candidate can download the official result from the website itself. The cut-off marks while I appeared were 235/360. After you clear the cut-off marks, an official mail is sent from NMIMS which includes all details of WAT/Pi. After clearing WAT/PI, the student gets admission to NMIMS. Also, there is a reservation of minimum of 30% of students that must be female. The process can be made easier by providing more time for WAT and an exact slot for PI.

Being inquisitive about business, I had a plan to pursue my MBA after my graduation. As NMIMS is a well-recognized university for the same, I applied for it and got admission. The faculty ratio is 1:60. The majority of the faculty are PHDs and have at least 5-6 years of industry work experience. The teaching method is case-based where there is a predefined set of HBR articles shared with students and discussed during the lecture. Term-end exams last for 2 hours and it is not much difficult to clear the exams.

Students become eligible from the very first month for Summer placements. A plethora of companies visit the campus and more than 500 offers are made according to me. The highest domestic package goes as high as INR 50 Lacs and the average is about INR 16 Lacs. No idea about international packages. A record 100% of students get placed every year. To work for a company in the HR domain.

Per year, a student is supposed to pay Rs.11 Lacs inclusive of tuition fees, library fees, laboratory fees, and other amenities like internet, etc. There is no scholarship system available at NMIMS. So students can do summer internships and case competitions in order to earn while studying. Every year, there is a 10% hike in fees.

EUPHORIA is the annual cultural fest organized in the month of March. There is an e-library made available for all the students through which we can access study materials, books, journals, and reports. One of the advanced facilities like wifi, smart board, desks with charging cables, etc are made available to students. NMIMS has a very rich culture when it comes to sports. Football is the most loved outdoor sport while table tennis for indoor sport. Extracurricular activities in the form of dancing, singing, beat-boxing, etc are a part of NMIMS. Social Responsibility Forum (SRF) is a social club that sensitizes the students with the social cause through events and other activities.

There was no GD. Only WAT (written assessment test) and PI (Personal Interview) was conducted. The prepation for this was done through various coaching centers as well as personal efforts by studying the market trends, new business emergence, daily news updates etc
