Life at NMIMS

I gave NMAT exam to get selected into the college and my score was 247 with 80 above in every section. The form was available on the NMIMS website and in different coaching portals. Once the results were declared, we got a mail regarding the PI process and then we took the PI. I cleared for MBA HR in NMIMS and got selected for that. I haven't availed of any reservation benefits. Apart from that, the admission process was very smooth and convenient for the students and the home proctored exam was also were easy to take and understand.

I chose MBA in Human Resources as my specialization. the course explains every minute detail about the specialization across the six trimesters and covers every aspect. The faculty members are highly experienced with the faculty-student ratio to be 6:1. Currently, the classes are going on in the online mode and it was a bit challenging to match with the subjects but the faculty ensured that everyone understands things with smoothness. The exams were there throughout the trimesters in the form of Internals, quizzes, assignments and projects. If we study, we can easily pass the exams.

The summer internships are an important part of the curriculum anf the companies start visiting the campus at the start of the second trimester. There are many companies who visit the campus from different industries offering multiple roles in different projects. There are many companies who provide pre placement offers and pre placement interview opportunities.

The college has a batch size of 600 for Core and 120 for HR students and ensures 100% placement for the entire batch. The average package offered for the last MBA core batch was 19.1 lakhs and for the HR batch, it was 15.1 lakhs. There are around 100+ companies that visit the campus and all are from multiple industries offering a variety of job roles and opportunities.

The fee structure for the university is quite expensive if we see it overall. 22 lakhs is the tuition fee for the complete two years course. Not too sure about the scholarships and the financial assistance because I haven't availed of one. The cost of the study is a bit more than what we see in other colleges.

Because of the pandemic, our classes were help in online mode and that is the reason, not to much aware about the life at the campus. Talking about the clubs and committees, the college has around 28+ clubs and committees in total. Infrastructure is just amazing as the campus of NMIMS is considered one of the best in India. There are multiple events that are conducted across the year including various fests and seminars. The annual cultural fest EUPHORIA is considered the flagship event of the college.

The test pattern this year was changed to a two-hour paper with 108 questions in total. There were three sections namely Verbal, Reasoning, and Quantitative analysis. Each section consisted of 36 questions with different times allotted to each section. The topics of GD were related to the recent trends going on in the market example growth of the economy, politics, etc. Once we get clear with the GD, the next step in the admission criteria is a Personal Interview. The preparation was normal for these rounds. Preparing the basic hygiene questions was the key.
