Remarks

The admission process was quite smooth and simple. The eligibility of the course is that the students must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam recognized by the government of Bihar with not less than the minimum of 45% marks for the students who were from commerce background and 50% for non-commerce students. The application form for admission is generally available on the website of the Patna women's college itself. For applying in more than one-course students do not need to register again, but payment has to be made separately for each application form. The payment mode accepted to fill the form is only in electronic mode. Document required to fill the form is 12th mark sheet and color passport size photo. The fee for the application form was 300 rupees per course in 2019. And currently, it's around 1000 rupees. In general application forms are available from April to the first week of May. In the last week of May, the entrance exam is conducted and the result is out in June.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for BCom from Patna women's college because the course offers a lot of variations in the subject. Every semester students have to read 3 to 4 core papers along with one Generic elective paper and one AECC up to 4th sem. The syllabus of the course is fully updated with that of DU. 2 sections are comprising of 170 students each, and the ratio between the students and teachers is 170:1. As per their qualification generally, all the teachers are experienced and have done masters as well as are NET qualified and have a technical degree in commerce such as CA and CS. The teachers provide a friendly environment. All the topics are explained nicely, notes and PDFs are provided as well as doubts are entertained. The exams are taken every 6 months as per the semester system and every 3 months, mid sem exams are taken with the assignments. The exams are taken on time always. The level of questions is quite good and it is quite difficult to pass the exams without deep knowledge.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The department of commerce does not provide any internships easily. They do organize several webinars, seminars, guest lectures, etc but don't provide internships. However, departments of BCA and Amm, etc are provided with several opportunities in the internships.

Placement Experience

2

Patna Women's College, Patna doesn't provide placements for B.Com (Hons) in accounts. We have to struggle to get internships also. However, around 70% of students of other departments such as BBA and BCA got placed with the average package of 6-7 lakhs in the companies such as Wipro, Infosys, etc. The highest package offered in the department of BCA is 54 lakhs per annum. I am planning to do a master's from the University of Delhi and then prepare for civil services exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for the Bcom is quite high I think. The fee per annum is 80000 along with 1350 every semester for the semester examination form. The tuition fee for the course is only 11000 approx but other charges such as maintenance charge, electricity bill, etc are quite high and this on an aggregate student have to deposit 80000 every year. Many scholarships are offered for the students who are financially weak and are needy such as the Mother Veronica scholarship etc. About placement, in commerce, very few students get placed.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life in the college is good but strict and disciplined. Emphasis is so much on following rules. There are many fests and celebrations conducted on the campus. The annual college day is celebrated in November and other celebrations such as Christmas, women's day, Holi Milan, the joy of giving week, etc are celebrated. The stock of books and journals in the library is quite large. All the books related to each department and newspapers and all the types of magazines are available. The classrooms are well furnished. Classrooms have a projector, speakers as well as proper lighting, Mike, etc. The opportunities for sports are good in the college, there is a basketball court and all the sports equipment is available. The college organizes and participates actively in the field of sports comprising almost all the indoor as well as outdoor games. Annual sports day is also conducted .classes for taekwondo and basketball are also given. PWC page run by the cabinet members.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information rather than the information itself. I wouldn’t eliminate content, without background we cannot form good, rational, and educated conclusions. We are still giving timed tests in math facts! I know that’s traditional, but it just isn’t as important. My era had no calculators and we needed to be proficient at paper and pencil solutions, but now, perfect calculations are available to everyone. We should focus on what kinds of problems can be solved with mathematics. Spelling is equally less important. Vocabulary should be stressed. My sister years ago was taking a test for a personal assistant position where she was asked to type a large number of words per minute error free.

Nothing influenced me yet i just have to go for it because of my graduation . Yes they prepare you good enogh for the rat race you are gonna do in coming future . The curriculam is a joke they will put information today and you have to get today only . I would suggest some of the rules and regulations should be maintained by the staffs and students even with teachers. Exams should in such manner no student can atleast face problems regarding admit cards and can cheat . there is no difficulty in in mid one but final one .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the B.Com curriculum at LNMU around 7.5/10 for relevance and coverage. I chose this course because it included all the important commerce subjects needed for government exams, higher studies like MBA, and basic professional courses. The syllabus builds a good theoretical foundation, but it lacks practical exposure like Tally, GST or real industry projects. Teaching methods are simple and could be improved with more modern, interactive approaches. Exams are held twice a year and follow predictable patterns, so the difficulty level is moderate. With notes and regular study, most students clear them easily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Firstly the college doesn't prepare students for the real world. Teaching methods of the teachers are okay but it doesn't help in the real world competition. No extra curricular activities are held for students. College gives enough time for preparation for the examination. Anyone can pass easily in this college.
