Md Rehan's Review On Aligarh Muslim University - [AMU], Aligarh

It is a central university which of vourse gives more exposure to students particularly if we are studying social science and arts. We get to know many other things which for the small town peoole like me, is eye opening.

Course syllabus was the same old for several years. Enough exposure. Dr. Jibraeil, Emeritus professor Irfan Habib, Dr. Parvez Nazir from history in bachelor's and Dr. Uzair, Dr. Sameera Khanam, from MSW are good faculties in my opinion.

I worked with Giants group of Garhwa which was an unpaid internship.

Enough companies visit here for placements and job opportunities. Also there is a separate Training and Placement Office for the same. They really help students in guidance and for counseling. Alumni structure is really good. Which is always eager to help students out in every feilds.

There is a separate place for extracurricular activities, you can get a membership of any of the clubs easily, such as, music club, literary club, eco club, drama club. Students are trained here and also they participate even on the national level. Campus holds many such festivals every year such which are open to every kind of students to participate. Campus also hosts many non-indian festivals which provide another ground to know about their culture and fooding, etc.

There are many scholarships provided by the respected alumnis of the university. Also there is Minority scholarship for muslim students whose annual family income is less than 1 lakh.

Campus infrastructure is good enough for those who want to use them for their own development. Every kind of sports facilities are provided along experienced coaches and trainers. Library is good enough for even an IAS aspirant. If there is a book you want to be added in the library stacks, there is a proper register to request for the same. Wi-Fi is free of cost for all bonafide students with good speed. According to my Engineering and Medical friends there are enough equipments in labs.

Hostel rooms are big enough with big enough cupboards for students. Students have access to purified water. But hostel seats are few and students getting admission increases every year. Sometimes it takes 3 years to get a proper room in a hostel if u are a Bachelor's student. So if you are looking for a quick hostel service, you will have to be disappointed. Hostel fee is really minimal. It is 700 rupees per year which is included in addmission fee.
