Remarks
From the age of 10 till higher secondary, my aim was same -'I want to be a scientist'. I think, their is no better college/university in north India, if you are interested in pure sciences and want to pursue research in the field.
Course Curriculum Overview
Being an autonomous institution, everything (above mentioned) is far better than other institutes. Syllabus, partition of marks between mid and end sem,grades are set by teaching faculty according to his field of interest. Institute just provides broad domain e.g.Organic chemistry, and teachers have freedom to customize it. This allows professors to give insights of the research going in that field.
Placement Experience
There is no direct placement as of now. Most students decide to go for phd in International prestigious institutes( as they are interested in research. But most of the alumni of IISER Mohali are working in well reputed places. Thus, If you are interested in pure sciences, this is the right place for you.
College Events
Campus life varies for individual to individual but most of the students accept IISER Mohali as second home. You get to know people from different parts of country, their culture, festivals etc. Events, DJ parties, various competitions are also organized time to time. IISER Mohali also participates in Inter college competitions, allowing students to showcase their talent.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is very good here at IISER Mohali. Few reasons for this are:1) Wi-Fi facility covering nearly whole campus including hostels. 2) Well maintained playing areas for nearly every game and regular sports events. e.g. Inter IISER sport meet, Intra IISER sports competition etc. 3) Excellent 8-floor library with marvelous infrastructure and online access. 4) No academic institution( in North India) is having better labs than IISER Mohali both in terms of safety and advanced technology
