Midhun Kumar Morisetty's Review On Indian Institute Of Information Technology - [IIIT], Allahabad

Though it is relatively a new college compared to NITs, there is good focus on computer science stream here and also the college earned a good reputation in the field of software engineering through it's alumini. Also I got to know that the campus is quite small unlike other central government colleges consiting of only 2 streams mainly (IT, ECE) which would provide the college an advantage to focus more on specific things related to these department without worrying about other unrelated things.

All the courses in syllabus were very good in providing neccessary insights & knowledge to crack and competitive exam related to these courses after graduation.I personally feel any course will be sufficient to provide industrial exposure without actually working in that industry. The faculty was quite good and most of them lead a research team consisting of M.tech & Ph.D students and have seen good amount of success especially in IT field.

This is the best part of the college. It provides wonderful opurtunities for placements but mostly all of them would be in the field of software engineering only. Not much scope to core sector placements as just a handful of companies visit college offering core sector jobs. If someone wants a versatile domain oppurtunities in the field of computer science then this is the place.

We have good focus on extracurriculars as well especially during the cultural fest. We also have a tech fest and sports fest every alternate semester. Apart from these major events we always have some other fun events like treasure hunt, football & cricket tournament etc. The campus life is quite amazing.

Academic related facilities like library, lab equipment, and even wi-fi are very good. Lab equipement is really good like we have various FPGAs & PCB design lab and all the softwares required for chip design and validation. In terms of sporting facilities I would say we are very mediocore comparing to other NITs, but still it is not bad.

There is flexibility to choose hostel rooms(4500 for 2 sharing, 9000 for no sharing per semester). The hostel has only basic facilities like cot, cupboard, light & fan. We have one Common hall for each hostel where we have a TV and everyone gathers there during cricket matches of India. The maintanence of hostels is below average considering the washrooms which are not at all properly maintained.
