Remarks
Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi is one of the fastest growing among the new IIM. Its has maintained it's dominance over the new IIMs which were established during the same time. One more important factor is location, it's hostels are located 2-3 minutes from the national stadium which are available to the students are a very nominal price. The PGP-HR course is gaining importance and is one of the best available HR program in the country. The advantage of having a well recognized is multi fold. One major advantage is when it comes to placements. Similar trend could be observed in the likes of MDI and XLRI. Also the pedagogy is well structured with the special attention given to strengthen the basics, given that quite a few of them come from non commerce background.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course has been structured efficiently, keeping in mind the variety of students who come from various background. The faculty are more focused on imparting knowledge and lesser focus is given to marks. The course has been well designed to gradually increase the depth of knowledge. The numbers of subjects offered as electives are plenty and theres no dearth for options.
Placement Experience
Around 94 companies visited the campus placed the students. Major recruiters Amazon, Ernst & Young, JP Morgan Chase & Co,Thomson Reuters, KPMG, IBM, Deloitte, Flipkart came to campus. The roles offered were diverse, like Finance, Operations, Strategy & Consulting, IT Analytics, Sales and Marketing. The work experience is well distributed which comes in handy. The entrepreneur cell has a special activity Invictus 2.0 where we get a chance to meet alumni who ventured into start ups. There insights and talks are inspiring and motivational.
College Events
The college started with an induction program which involved strategically planned activities. The ice breaking sessions were plenty in number and I knew about 30-40 percent of my class even before the actual classes started.
