Remarks

It is a prestigious institution in mangalore known for overall profeesional development of students and preparing them for real life profeesional career. It is also having more than 125 years of existence. Every high school student dreams of studying in this college. The thing I like the most about this college is its garden and trees which we normally do not find in the middle of the city. I chose B. Com course because of my dream to pursue chartered accountancy. B. Com is a stepping stone towards commerce education.

Course Curriculum Overview

My college is an autonomous college. Hence the curriculum was updated at a regular interval. Although there wasn't enough industrial exposure as I expected to be in this college. Faculties in this college had a decent experience in teaching. Mr. Manuel was among the best faculties in this college.

I did my internship under a chartered accountant in mangalore with a stipend of Rs.6000/-

College Events

There was commerce fest every year where colleges from all over India were invited to participate. This fest would go on for over 3 days. This fest was famous in and around mangalore and around 500 to 1000 students would participate in these competitions.

Campus Life

Every stream had a different building and we had a seperate building for IT, Commerce, Science, and Arts. We had a wifi which was very slow. There was library with enough space to cater students with books ranging in all subjects.

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage

They provide good curriculum and better syllubus which covers most of the geology and oceanography topics especially physical and chemical oceanography, climatology, hydro geology and other topics but practically they seems little back they doesn't provide new instruments for surveying and oceanography they still following old techniques which is not relevantly used in this time

From 7th to 8th semester students become eligible for campus placement and various types big hotel brands, airlines, cruiselines and big companies visit to recruit or give placements to students and average offers are made around 600000 lakhs per annum. Collage provides 100% placement to students and we go for intership twice, once in 3rd semester and second in 8th semester. we can choose whereever we want to do our intership even we can apply for abroad interships. After I complete my degree I am planning to get a job in any international brand or cruiselines then after 2-3 years of experience I will do complete my masters then I will settle down with a nice job in India.
