Remarks
My college had state ranking: 3rd in Madhya Pradesh. It was a state government college therefore its fees was comparatively low than the similar private colleges. Also, it had a good placement record, the highest placement goes to 9-10 lac. All these things drove me to take this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Honestly, the course syllabus was not at all updated. We weren't provided good enough industrial exposure, it was left on students how to get any industrial experience, no support from college were provided. Also, it should not be said but what I learnt in coachings of GATE in 3 months was more and better than whta our professors taught us in 4 years. Only 1-2 faculties were good, I can name Mr. Bhupendra Pandey who was a very good professor, he was the one of those teacher who literally wants to be a teacher and educate students.
Internships Opportunities
I interned at Sarni Powerplant with Zero stipend.
Placement Experience
Majority of students are placed in mass recruiter IT Companies like Accenture, TCS, Infosys, IBM which offer roles for software development engineers to CS-IT students and software testing roles to other branch's students. Apart from that some core companies like Trident, BORL, Britannia also visit the campus and recruit 3-5 students from the college.
College Events
Extracurricular were limited as hostelers and college administration always ensured that no extracurricular event of a significant size and value be held in college. Only small competitions were organized by students that give value close to zero.
Fees and Financial Aid
I availed a scholarship that is given to people of OBC-NCL category students. It lowered by tuition by a considerable amount. Although we had to pay complete fee initially and then appropriate amount was reimbursed in our accounts.
Campus Life
There were sports facility but due to extreme rivalry between hostelers and day scholars, and baseless support of hostlers by college administration, every day scholar is refrained from using those sport facility. Wifi facility was good. Library was also good but not updated, only old books with no variety also with rude staff. Since the college was setup in 1957, major equipments are so old and rusted, they are good for nothing.
Hostel Facilities
I am thankful I never opted out for hostel. Because what I saw in my college years was so disturbing: my classmates which sounded sane in first year were completely brainwashed till 2nd year. Almost every hosteler started drinking, started eve teasing to girls hosteler, anyone who raised voice was threatened and made quiet. Hostelers were told by their seniors to stay at the main gate after the college time so that no day scholar can enter the college after that time and it was ensured by them that within 30 min after college time every day scholar be sent outside the college.
