Remarks

Life's good in this College. The college is not so strict which attracts more and more students every year.

Entrance Preview

There wasn't any entrance examination. I had secured 88% in my higher secondary examination which was eligible to get a seat in DG Vaishnav College. Good reviews from people all around made me join this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The major stress is given to Accountancy papers. There are six semesters totally in the three years period. The course makes us understand what actually Commerce is and also gives a great knowledge about all those business studies. B.Com is said to be the best course in my college.

Internships Opportunities

Ofcourse it does provide internship. But it depends on the course you opt. There hasn't been any internship opportunities for us till now in the commerce department.

Placement Experience

3.5

Since I'm in the second year, I'm not sure about the placement figures. My seniors told me that there are many companies dropping in and recruiting many students. companies like EY, kpmg, Deloitte and Standard charted bank are the best paying companies.

College Events

4

DG Vaishnav is known for its number of cultural programs which are held very often in the college premises. Also the management allows the students to take part in other college culturals giving them permission and also the attendance for that day. Students Enjoy these all the time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's reasonable. Not too expensive and all. They charge around 40k for B.com evening shift and the amount declines as we move on to the second and third years. While compared to all those colleges such as MCC, Loyola.DG Vaishnav College charges a nominal fee only.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had heard that there are scholarships given to the needy and deserved students. But I haven't availed any scholarship till date.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is a pleasant experience every working day. Being a Co-ed college, DG Vaishnav College is gfilled with both guys and girls in 60:40 ratio. Cultural events takes place very frequently rejoicing the students. Sports competition happen very occasionally like say, once in a year.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I'm not a hosteler and doesn't have any idea about the hostel fees. But my friends who stay in the hostel had said that the rooms are not so bad, but the hostel food sucks. The students are allowed to visit their hometown once in a month and also are permitted to take leave during festival times.

Alumni/Alumna

No. There's no connection with my seniors or alumni. Very few Lucky students are still in touch with their seniors.

Exam Structure

There ain't too many exams to torture the students actually. Ofcourse, there are Internals test once in a month but that doesn't bother the students that much as they pay least care about those tests. One semester examination takes place once in six months.

Faculty

3

Highly qualified faculties all around except for few staff, who aren't that good in teaching. Those few even lack in proper English communication. But not to blame all, there are few teachers who give their best to the students like me. Over-all standard is good when compared to other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect will be accounting that made me choose this couse. The curriculum made me to prepare for future accounting field works and knowledge around the field. The improvements that I suggest may is to add more relevent real life job experience in subject books itself. As per me who is one of a topper student in my college, The difficulty is moderate to me and timing of exams are more enough to fill all the questions.

Placement Experience:

In MCC there is placement but it's not 100% placement, only 10 to 20 from a class of 60 gets placed, so when it comes to placement it's upto to you and your skills. Normaly the placement enrollment starts at beginning of your 5th semester or end of your fourth semester, you can opt for placement or higher study. The highest package was from Standard Chartered & Deloitte it was 6 Lakhs CTC. Accenture, TCS and some well known companies will participate in placement drive. The average package will be Rs.3.5 Lakhs CTS. I'm planning to go for higher studies while doing a part time job after getting degree.
