Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is close to my home in Bihar so this was one of the reasons for joining it. My father's batchmates in his medical college are professor's at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, so to have a local guardian. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology has an intake of 600 students per year only unlike other colleges where there are 25 branches and 6000 students per batch, so less quantity more quality. Amazing placement offers for Computer Science Engineering branch is an important factor for admission here. And Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology has a strong and established Alumini network.
Course Curriculum Overview
No the course syllabus is not much updated. There is no such Industrial exposure. Faculties are not that good, but Dr. David Raj Michael, Dr. Sandeep Gurung, Mr. Anirban Sengupta, Dr. Saibal Saha are the best faculties here at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.
Placement Experience
Microsoft, DELL, SHELL, Wipro, Byju's, JLL, Nomura, Ericsson, MU Sigma, Capegmini, Daikin, TCS, Cognizant, IDEMIA, Extramarks, IBM Labs, Boston Scientific and many more companies visited. The highest package offered was by MU Sigma of Rs 21 Lakhs. Microsoft offered 10, 67, 000 Rs, IBM Labs offered 10 Lakh Rs and DELL Rs 8 Lakh. The placement cell at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is very hardworking.Satyarup Siddhantha a mountaineer, Mayank Shridhar The Principal Technologist at Infosys, Girish Pradhan the musician are alumni of our college.
College Events
Technical fest is an average fest, but you get to see a lot of projects especially on Artificial Intelligence.Cultural and Management fests are the best and when they began suddenly a festive vibe kicks in. Good food, good music and great company is all about the fests here at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.
Fees and Financial Aid
Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology provides 10% scholarship in tution fees for students who have scored between 80% to 89% in PCM aggregate and 30% scholarship in tution fees for those who have scored above 90% aggregate PCM in class 12th. If somebody's parent is in the CAPF/ Defense Forces/ Paramilitary Forces and is serving in Sikkim only then they get 75% scholarship.
Campus Life
Infrastructure at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is the best you can get. It provides the sports facility of varsity league. 60 GB of WI-FI every month. Computer Science Engineering department here has got the best labs.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are actually better than any other college in India. There are double sharing rooms, single rooms, double sharing AC and single sharing AC rooms. All the rooms have a bathroom. Average rents in PG is around 5000 Rs.
