Remarks
Firstly it is a reputed institute of national importance. The selection procedures are well organised compared to IITs. For IITs there are individual selection processes which is really difficult. But for NITs it's combined, application and selection procedures are done using CCMT website, so there won't be any overlap. There were 3 rounds of allotment. The willingness or confirmation of joining need to be given after the first round at the nearest NIT. Joining to the finally allotted institute is only after 3rd round.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen soil mechanics (civil). Faculties are well qualified and helpful. Teaching methods are excellent, especially site visits, frequent seminars and conferences, apart from regular teaching. In the first 2 semesters there are total 4 exams, seminars and presentations. In the 3,4 semesters most of the work is project related. Also there are 2 project presentations and 1 seminar. Faculty:student in our department was 1:3. The rules may slightly vary from department to department.
Internships Opportunities
It varies from department to department. Some are having mandatory internships (in some reputed companies or IITs or IISCs) based on the area of interest.
Placement Experience
Campus selections are there for all branches, maximum selection is for B Tech and MTech cs and ece branches. Others are research oriented and will go for phd. After btech most of the students will join job or will pursue higher degrees like MBA, MS etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Total fee was 140000. For MTech there was stipend (MHRD) which was 12,400 per month. (Now it is stopped). Job opportunities are not that great. Very few consultancies are there like TCE, L&T. they may recruit 1 or 2. The companies are reluctant to hire female students. Most of the students are research oriented and join phd. For MTech CS and ECE students are getting highly paid jobs via campus selection.
Campus Life
Campus life is awesome. The campus is full green and aesthetic view is unexplainable. The library is of international standard. Girls hostel is also luxurious (spacious single seater room with balcony) food is also 5 star quality. Sparsh is the annual cultural fest of the college which is a 3 day event. There is a cricket tournament also held annually ( for boys as well as girls). Overall infrastructure of the college is very good.

Admission
The admission is purely based on Gate score in NITs. In IITs there are written test &/or interview, which is mostly related to basics of the subject, and the reason for choosing the course.
