Remarks

The multidisciplinary approach of teaching and the freedom of choosing your own curriculum. I didn't find any bad aspects. Admission process consisted of shortlisting from GATE exam scores, written test followed by interview round.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was passionate about Mechanical engineering and hence opted for the course. The faculty present at IIT Gandhinagar are very well qualified having their PHD degrees and post doctorals from top foreign universities. The exams would test the in depth concept of the student and not just superficial knowledge.

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Placement Experience

Students will be eligible for placements from the 7th semester for B.Tech Students and 3rd Semester for Masters Students. Various PSUs visit for B.tech companies. some include BPCL, HPCL, ONGC with an average salary of 15lpa . Other Private companies such as JP Morgan, Barclays etc would also visit with higher packages. Percentage of students getting placed would be around 60-70%.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since I went through GATE examination score, I was receiving stipend from MHRD. Cost of studying is high as compared to older IITs. There are also internal scholarships to meritorious students. Campus placements are decent as compared to older IITs

Social life is good inside the campus. Lots of cultural programs would take place and even professors would encourage such activities. IIT Gandhinagar promotes sports and hence they have a foundation programme specifically for the college freshers to induce the culture of sports and healthy life style

The fist step was shortlisting through GATE exam score for the admission for Masters program. It was followed by written test. On successful clearing of that one was subjected to one round of interview.

Insight of IIT Gandhinagar

I applied for almost each Tier 1 IIT and I was getting seat in IIT Roorkee, Guwahati, kharagpur and all other IITs below in NIRF. I chose this college over other colleges because of its new campus and infrastructure and available of outstanding sports facilities. Awesome hostels, Supportive Faculty, Modern Infrastructure, Moderate Placements, and Quality Mess Food

I applied for admission to IITGN fo IITGN for M.Sc. in mathematics. I gave the IIT JAM exam, and after clearing it, i had to make a list of the colleges(IITs) where i wanted to study. In the JAM exam, i got an AIR of 527. With this rank, i coukld not get into top older IITs. At IITGN, there are visiting faculty members who are professor at IIt Bombay and foreign universities. Most of the professor here have done their PhDs from foreign colleges, and they have good research career.
