Happy days at MIM

Manipal University has its own branch named Manipal Institute of Management where all the management programmes are done. It is a good institute and is ranked 76 to 100 for Private MBA by NIRF in 2020. I gave my CAT exam and filled the application form online. I'm blessed to get an opportunity to study at this institution.

In MBA we have 4 semesters and in each semester we have specific subjects to study. There are specializations to choose between Finance, Marketing, HR and Operations. The professors are highly qualified and they use various methods like Simulations, Roleplays, Presentations and Video analysis as a mode of teaching. The exams are taken timely and it is easy to pass for those who follow the classes regularly.

During the second semester we get calls for internship. The internship on an average runs for 8 weeks and during that time we get a good idea about the companies and how the management is run. The internships are mostly paid and we get around 5000 rupees on an average.

The placement drive starts after the commencement of the 1st year. We have special grooming classes which helps the students during placements. Our top recruiting companies are E&Y, Federal Bank, Byjus, Flipkart, Amazon, HDFC Bank and ITC. The highest salary offered is 12 LPA while the median package offered was 7.5 LPA. The best thing is we have 100% placements. Most students got placed in the marketing domain followed by HR and operations.

If we compare the fees of MIM with other B Schools we can say the fees is moderate. The two year MBA program costs around 800000 rupees approximately. There are many scholarship options available for the financially weak and the meritorious students. The scholarships are Kadambi scholarship, ITC scholarship and many more.

The MIM campus is relatively new and has all the facilities needed for the students. The library is very good and consists of various books needed for the students. As the pandemic has stopped us from doing offline classes we received books from our college and had access to E Library. All the fests and events are organized online this year. Though its problematic to do classes online but the management takes special care so that we don't feel detached.

As we are doing classes from home we don't have a clear idea about the hostels. But our seniors had said they are well accommodated at the hostels. We have very beautiful hostels as I have seen in the photos. The registration for hostels is done during the time of admission.
