Admission Process at IIT Kanpur: Apply using GATE Score then coding test for shortlisted candidates. Admission Process at IIT Guwahati: Apply using GATE Score. Admission Process at IIIT Hyderabad: Apply using GATE Score then interview for shortlisted candidates. IIT Kanpur is one of the top and old IITs and is near to my hometown. Seniors from IIT helped me in selecting the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

A max of 200 students were generally allowed to attend a course. Mostly all faculty members have PhD and doctorate from reputed institutes. The teaching mode use to vary from Blackboard to PPTs to Demos in case of offline mode. Each semester is of around 4 months with 2 exams one is mid and one at the end. Assignments or projects or quizzes were also held timely. The assignments are engaging and challenging.

Placement Experience

The PG students appear for placements in 3rd semester. Companies like Google, Uber, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart etc visit during the placement season. The average CTC is around 20-22L. Almost everybody gets placed in the Phase 1 of the placements held in December, few are left for Phase 2. Currently, I am doing corporate job.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a hosteler, the total cost will go no more than 2 lakhs. The MHRD stipend of Rs 12,400 is sufficient to meet the expenses. The campus has placement season at the end of each year. First the coding tests are held and then shortlisted candidates are allowed in the interviews.

Campus Life

Due to COVID, we did not get that much time to spend on campus. But whatever it was, the journey was worth the efforts. We have Sports complex, Gym, Swimming pool, Yoga, Taekwondo and what not. Classrooms are well furnished and equipped with AC.

Hostel Facilities

PG students are generally provided with a single seater room. Most of the students are hostelers so it is easy to get the accommodation because that is how the institute plans. The room is quite spacious and furnished. The meal keeps on changing every month and the quality is good as well.

Admission

Leetcode and InterviewBit provide coding questions which will help you to prepare for coding tests and interviews. Brushing up the GATE subjects will be a plus for interviews.

Placement Experience:

Basically, if we're talking about M.tech. students are eligible for campus placement in second year of the course. Many companies have visited so far in the past like L&T , VIT( for Assistant professor) , EIL (for top rank holders) , etc with good CTC packages. My plan is to join any renowned PSU, if selected after completion of this course, as im preparing for it.

The placements in this college are the only attractive part. Companies such as Nvidia, Intel, AMD visit the college for internships every year. The college has placements through internships. Direct PPO are also given.

IITK From Sparsh's Perspective

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. Life @ IITK

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
