Remarks

The admission process included giving an entrance examination called NMAT. You have to register for this separately on the NMAT by GMAC website and also fill the admission form for NMIMS. The entrance starts ideally by the month of October. The fees for these forms lie somewhere between Rs.1800-2000 each. There are no reservations for getting into NMIMS. After the entrance, the college releases their cutoff. Post which, there is a CDPI wherein a case is given for further analysis and writeup. On the same day of CD, a PI is held with a panel of Professors from NMIMS. And finally, based on the cumulative scores of these, the results and merit ranks are released. The entire process takes around 4 months to be completed.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum follows a case based approach under which, real life issues and stories are shared and discussed in class to get to learn concepts and also connect them in real time. This helps in better retention for every single one of us. The faculty to student ratio is 1:20 which helps in building a good rapport overall. The students get to give regular feedback to the faculty and each and every faculty are sorted based on their expertise in a particular field. More than 50% of the faculty in our college hold a PhD degree. NMIMS follows a trimester system. There are a total of 6 trims spread across 2 years. The term end exams are currently held on the student portal in a proctored manner. Students also have internal assessments throughout the trimester to keep them engaged with the subject well.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Some of the big brands visit the college providing internship opportunity to students. For eg - Marico, ITC, Asian Paints, CRISIL, etc. The internship is held for a duration of 2 months and starts right after the Trim 3 i.e. the end of Year 1 for the students. The average stipend offered by companies can lie anywhere in between Rs.50000-1 lakh. A student can opt for a company based on the specialization they want to pursue. This adds a lot of value to the CVs of freshers, people looking for a change in field, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

The final placements start during the Trim 5. All big brands start coming to campus. The very first round is CV shortlist which every student must go through. Before this, the summer placements happen during Trim 2 and 3. The average package for these are around Rs.1 lakh per month. NMIMS has a record of provide 100% placement both in terms of internship and final placements. This year, the final placements were completed within 8 days with an average package of Rs.19 lakhs throughout the batch.

Fees and Financial Aid

Usually there is a hike in fees by 10% on a year on year basis. Currently the fees is around Rs. 11 lakhs per year. The breakup of the same is given to the student in the beginning of the year. Scholarship support is given to people with an annual income of less than Rs.10 lakhs. The same is rolled out during the 1st year. After proof verification, the scholarship is rolled out. The fees is a good trade off compared to the job you get on campus. The average package as per the placement report is Rs.18.5 lakhs per annum. This makes the ROI of the college very attractive.

Campus Life

4

Because the intake of students is very high at NMIMS, people from various different backgrounds can be seen and one gets to interact and know everyone with these diverse cultures. The annual fest at NMIMS is knows as Euphoria which is organized by the Cultural Cell of NMIMS called NMIMS. There are close to 24 clubs and committees in the college. All these are headed by the Student Council that is again maintained by the students of NMIMS. The library at NMIMS contains resources from all kinds of field. They also have a Bloomberg terminal installed for the finance enthusiasts. The access to the same are given to students based on availability.

Interview Experience

4.5

After giving the NMAT entrance exam in November, I was shortlisted based on the cutoff released by college. We had to go through a CDPI process post that. Under CDPI, the college took an individual approach rather than group, because everything was online. We were given a case along with data sets. We were asked to analyze the same, and write about what we understood from the same. On the same day of our CD, the PI was held. In this, a panel of 3 professors from college were present. They asked a mixture of hygiene and technical questions. Knowledge of Current Affairs, what is happening around the world, your academic background, the work you have done throughout the years, etc is very important. I prepared by taking the CatKing CDPI coaching. It was very helpful for me

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
