Remarks
Eligibility for BA in English literature is your 10th and 12th score. For the unreserved category, it is 50% and for the reserved category, it is 45%.but if seats are available they do give relaxation in scores. Application form, fees and dates can be seen on msubaroda.ac.in. Details of reservation can be found on their website as well as can be enquired at the faculty office. I think msu is still using outdated things for the admission process so they need to improve it.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite interesting. It includes old English Literature, prose and poetry. When I got admission there were total 8 subjects in which students have to study 4 core, 2 Allieds, 1 elt, 1 Ide. But now they only have to study 4 core subjects and 1 ide .core subjects include everything about English literature, their authors, English language teaching or women writing. And ide has optional topics. English department has the highest ratio of students in the faculty of arts. Teachers are really cooperative and understanding, specially HOD Mr Hitesh Raviya sir. They support students in every possible way. Students have to give internals after 2 months of studies it is of 30 marks and after completing 1st semester that means 6 months they will conduct external of 70 marks. Exams of English literature is quite tough for those students who are not from an English base. They face difficulties in ELT and core subjects.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I got admission my fees was 6000 and for boys, it was 7000 but now it is increased. It might be 6640 for girls and 7740 for boys. They give benefits to reserved categories by offering a scholarship scheme. And for unreserved category, there is a scholarships scheme too but it takes a long to process.
Campus Life
For English literature students, campus life is library and classroom but still, faculty organises youthfest every year in January and Yugaantar in the same month. Department of English also organises some programmes for their students. There are amenities like mikes in the bachelor's classroom and in the master's classroom they have good sitting tables and chairs and OHP. The faculty organises sports events also. There are 2 social groups on Instagram and Facebook from @abvparts and @asu which is run by the students group.
