Remarks
The eligibility of the course is to have 60% and above in your 10th and 12th. An aptitude test and interview were taken during the admission process. My year of admission was during the COVID-19 pandemic, so all the application form, aptitude test and interviews were online or call-based. You have to apply for admission online and then one of the councellors will send you the application form. The admission process would have been smooth if there wasn't a pandemic.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I was very interested in visual effects and how it's growing the movie industry. There are two faculties for the core main subjects and in my class, there are 8 students. The faculties teach really well and they are highly qualified to teach. The exams are semester-wise like every half the year, you can study one week before and still pass with good marks.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Xcentrix and Technicolor offer good interships. Roles offered are usually small role like junior graphic designer and the stipend ranges from 10k - 15k. The projects they give are usually graphical work related to your course, like editing a small part of an advertisement.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements right after there 5th semester. There's 100% job opportunity and big companies like Technicolor and Xcentrix offer placements. The average starting salary is 25k - 35k depending on your previous internships, whether you have done multiple interships and how much you were getting. 100% of the students got placements. After I get my degree I will be working in visual effects companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the college is very high compared to other colleges. The fee is around 1.7 lakhs per year. During your second year(third semester) you'll be ready to apply for small interships or freelance works on your own. During the third year, college will help you get into internships, jobs and prepare you for company interviews.
Campus Life
There are a lot of fests in this college. The main one is freshers day and the other one depends on the festival. In 2021, Karnataka rajyotsava was biggest fest in the college. There is a small library inside the college where you can get all the books of your course, there are also business and tech books. All classrooms in the college have A/C, some classrooms have Macs depending on the Course and basic projectors. There is video game, photography, dance groups which are run by students.
