Remarks

The Heritage College has emerged as one of the premier Education Institutes in the City. Right from its inauguration in 2016, the College has gone beyond its way to implementing its motto: Graduate with a Difference. The admission process is pretty simple and less time-consuming compared to some of the other colleges. The application form is found on the Website of The Heritage College. Admission criteria are simple: Minimum 65% marks in ISC/CBSE/other relevant State Boards. No backlog in any subject The application fee is 1000 and the dates are updated on the Website. After submitting the Application Form, if you are eligible, the College will contact you for a PI, which you need to attend with your parents, following which, if deemed fit, you'd be granted admission immediately.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

After having pursued Commerce in my +2, I wanted to do my graduation in Commerce and hence opted for BCom(Hons.) The Heritage College has undoubtedly one of the best set of teachers in the entire city. Almost all the teachers are pretty young, well versed in the subjects and extremely student-friendly. The Heritage College always believes in beyond-the-classroom education and hence there are WhatsApp groups with the teachers who'd help you with your subjects and college life at any given point during the day. Classes were never limited to a chalkboard-textbook basis and several other interactive methods of teaching were always preferred by the teachers. Interpersonal relations with the faculty is one of the best pros of The Heritage College as the teachers end up being like your family. Exams were conducted twice before every semester and students were given one-on-one classes with the teachers if they faced any difficulty. Overall, every student passed the exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are a number of Internship opportunities available for the students to choose from, not just restricting from one particular field, at any given point in time. You can choose to pursue any internship any time you feel like, provided the internship ends at least one month prior to your end-Semester examinations, as the teachers wouldn't want you swayed from your prime focus. Personally, I had done an internship at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C). There are equally good internships provided for you to avail the same.

Placement Experience

3

BCom(Hons.) is a 6 semester (3 years) course. Once you complete your fourth semester, you become eligible to sit for placement opportunities. You need to have a minimum of 70% attendance to appear before the placement committees at any given point in time. 4/10 students who appear for placements secure the same. Companies like Godrej, Tata, and others have made their footfall at Heritage College and have hired a number of people for their jobs. As Heritage College is a new institution, it is growing each day, and every other year, more and more companies visit to hire students from the campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee stands at 32,100 per Semester or 64,200 per annum. It'll remain the same for the 3 years of your graduation and fees are almost never hiked for any reason whatsoever. For students facing emergency financial crises, the Management helps the students in every shape and form possible. From reducing fees for the person to completely imparting education for free, the management decides after scrutiny regarding the same. There aren't any Scholarships or on-campus job facilities but you'd be provided with several internships during the course of your curriculum.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is pretty happening at The Heritage College. The campus comprises a total of 6 sister Institutes in the same place, making it one of the biggest campuses in the city with 6 playgrounds, 7 cafeterias, multiple AV rooms and auditoriums, swimming pools, rock climbing facilities, gymnasium, 5 libraries, and several other amenities. There are multiple clubs, for cultural and educational growth. There is a Student Council run by the students entirely and the Department of Commerce is governed by its Heritage Commerce Society, run by the students. A plethora of events are organized throughout the semester, both, intra and inter-college. You'd never fall short of chances for opportunities beyond curriculum.

Interview Experience

4.5

There will be no separate examination or Group Discussion as far as Admission is concerned. Nevertheless, you’d be having a Personal Interview, which you have to attend with your parents, once the College reviews your Admission Form and you pass the eligibility criteria. The questions asked are pretty simple and very limited questions are asked related to your chosen field of study. The interviewers ask personal questions relating to you, your goals and aspirations, reason to have chosen the curriculum, etcetera to check your speaking skills, smartness, body language, and quick thinking of mind.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
