Remarks

Course eligibility is based on the result of graduation marks. You must have graduated in Philosophy honors with a minimum of 45% marks to apply here. Then the merit list will be created based on graduation and hs marks. You can find the application form on the website name wbsu. ac.in. For covid now college does not take an application fee. Normally after the publication of graduation results within a week application portal starts. As this is a complete merit-based admission you have to get over 60% marks to get a seat. Yes, reservation seats are available for other university students and SC/ST/OBC candidates. Although the admission process is online but while document verification the time gap is very less. There should be an admission test.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

After completing graduation in Philosophy I had a wish to study longer. So I have chosen this course. After doing post-graduation I wish to seat in the NET, SET exam. I want to be a school teacher or professor. We have around 45 students in our department batch and we have 5 professors in total. So the student-faculty ratio is one professor per 9 students which is more than enough. Our professors are qualified. But I don't like everyone's teaching method. Some professors are very boring while taking the class. Some of them did not take online classes regularly. Overall it's a medium good experience. We have a total of 4 exams to pass. And we have internal class tests and assignments to submit before every semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

In our university main campus fees are very low. We have to pay the fee every semester. The fee was around 5500. So it is very much reasonable for all the students. Outside the university, you may need a private tutor but if we exclude it the total cost of studying in our university in two years is less than Rs 25000 in 2 years. So the cost being low university does not need to provide any kind of financial help. But students can apply for scholarships like SVMCM, Kanyashree & OASIS. Our university does not approve many scholarships so you can not even apply for private scholarships like JINDAL. However, you must get 53% marks to renew SVMCM scholarships and 45% marks for Kanyashree Scholarships.

Campus Life

1

Our university does not organize many cultural programs. They do not encourage extra circular activities. we did not have any kind of annual fest & fresher's welcome. We have a huge library with all kinds of books available. But many more books to come because I have seen many department's books are missing. However, it's a great place & very well decorated with colorful racks. Our university campus is very good but people who are sitting in the official work department are the worst. Their behavior is very bad. They will harass you for small problems. You can't solve your problem in one day. They just keep giving another date. It is very much awful. We did not have any kind of sports activity. At least I have not seen anything. Lastly I want to say if you came here with lot of dreams and expectation you will be very much disappointed.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.
