NIT Nagaland Review

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland is quite popular for its CSE program. Candidate must clear graduation program with a minimum of 50% of marks and has to qualify GATE exam followed by GD and PI round. I opted for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland because I am from Arunachal Pradesh and I was looking for an institute that is specialized in CSE programs with a good placement record. So National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland was the best choice for me.

The curriculum of the college is according to the latest industrial norms. The curriculum is designed to provide advanced knowledge to cultivate skills among the students for professional achievements. The curriculum promotes innovation and research activities a lot so that students can learn and develop their skills for their personal and professional growth.

When I was part of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland, the college did not provide in-house internship program as most of the students were busy with their research work. But if you wanted to opt for an internship you can do it off campus. The stipend for an internship depends on the company you have opted and remember college doesn't provide an internship program so you can not depend on the company for any guidance for an internship. Yes, faculty can guide you on what type of internship and from where you can do it.

The placement record of the college is descent and the placement cell of the college is good and well experienced. So we don't have to face any kind of problem during our placement program. Around 25 companies visited our campus for placement. Companies like Cognizant, Capgemini, Lakshaya, Vedanta, L&T, Toppers, Mphasis, etc are a few companies that visited our campus during the placement drive. The highest package for our batch was 11.20 LPA and the average package is around 4.90 LPA. I also receive a decent amount of package of 8 LPA.

The college directly does not provide scholarships to students. But state and central government-funded scholarships are available in the college. Also, the education loan facility is also available and if any of the students are opting for an education loan the college admission staff guide very well for the loan. The campus is beautifully surrounded by scenic views. The college rooms are good and spacious. The library is big and almost all types of books are available there are around 9500 books in the library and 1400+ e-books. During our time the college does not have ground but a basketball court and volleyball court was available. The small events are organised in the college by the student clubs. The events in the college are organized by the students.

The hostel rooms are like private flats and the rooms are available on a double sharing basis means one room is shared by 2 students. The rooms are equipped with 2 beds, 2 almirahs and a study table for students. The hostel is full of all necessary facility that is useful for the student. The food of the mess is also good. At this price point, the hostel facility is really good and worth it.

The faculty ratio of teacher and student is good. the faculty is able to interact with every student in the class during the lecture. The faculties are of PhD level. Students can approach faculty at any moment to clear their doubts and they will help you out to clear your doubts without any hindrance.
