Entrance Preview
I took the entrance exam which is held by Ramkrishna Mission Resedential College(Autonomous). I scored 52 out of 100. My rank was 7. I opted for this college as it has an awesome faculty in all subjects. The infrastructure is state of the art.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course which is B.Sc(Hons) in Economics consists of 16 papers divided across 6 semesters. The parts include macroeconomics, microeconomics, statictical economics, developmental economics, Indian economics, public economics, internatinal trade and Indian economic history since independence. I had 2 pass subjects uptill 2nd year (4 semesters). I choose Mathematics which is compulsory for economics and Statistics. One might choose Pol Sc. as well instead of Statistics.
Internships Opportunities
The college does not offer a stipend. However students get a scholarship based of merit and means. During admission students who require a scholarship are asked to mention that in their application forms.
Placement Experience
Being an honors college,the college does not offer any placements till now. But having a degree from this college offers wide opportunities to get admission into top universities for post graduation and hence get a great job.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for a student not getting a scholarship is Rs. 2300/- per month including hostel charges and tuition fees. Prior to each exam, an exam fee of Rs. 400 is charged and a session fee of Rs. 6000/- is charged each session.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship is offered to students in terms of merit and means. Different percentage of scholarship is offered to different students in terms of their family income and merit.
Campus Life
It is an all boys hostel. No girls get admission strictly. There are no hostel parties. Seniors mingle with juniors like elder brothers. No type of ragging. A football, cricket and table tennis tournament is held every year.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni of this college is very helpful as are the seniors. They help us in every way possible including giving us important notes and guiding us in every ways possible.
Exam Structure
There are two semesters in a year. Prior to each semester there is a mid-semester. The exam schedule is neither hectic nor chilled out. The exams structure is very well designed to help students learn their subjects.
