Entrance Preview

I took admission via VBCAT ( Visva Bharati common admission test). After JEE (wb) it is the best course for me as I have a great interest to talk with people. As here I have opportunity to work with farmers and their psychology, so I opt for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This is a course of 4 years after this we have opportunity to do masters and do our research on various fields of agriculture.

Internships Opportunities

I just within my experiential programme course. Here we go to village and talk with farmers via PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal), and we try to understand their problem regarding crops, iggigation, fertilizer etc.

Placement Experience

2.5

Opportunity of placement is little here as there was 40% placement occured last year in IFFCO, CHEMICAL FERTILIZER COMPANIES, SEED COMPANIES etc.

College Events

4

Here we celebrate our festivals with the changing seneriyo of nature. As visva Bharati is the dream institution of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, So we celebrate festivals of seasons here, as per Gurudevs wishes. Here we celebrate 'BASANT AUTSOV' (Festival of spring), 'POUS MELA' (Festivals is winter), 'HALAKARSHON' (Furrowing ceremony), BRIKSHA ROPON( Tree plantation programme) and many others. Peoples from whole world gathered here on this festivals as it is a very famous university.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here we receive merit scholarship and merit cum means scholarship. First 10 people of class scoring highest marks will get scholarship of Rs 5000 per year. Poor students get scholarship of Rs 10000 per annum if thetly belongs to backward class.

Campus Life

3

Here campus life is enjoyable. As agriculture is a laborous course, so girls student are less in number. Gender ratio is near about 1.5:1, boys: girls basis. Here we have a good soil testing lab and soil physics lab. In our college there is no political union. Racisim is not happening here.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facility is very good, electricity supply also is very good. Here we share a roomnby two. Rooms are big enough to share with. Food is not very good. It is so-so type. Some are stay in PG s, they have to spend Rs 1000 per month for a bed, where as in

Alumni/Alumna

We have a strong alumni network. We arranged Reunion at a interval of 3 years. Many of our seniors are in higher posts in companies and in govt. Offices they helped us for placement and job.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are caring and friendly, they guided us to achieve a good score above 70% ( first class), and in experiential learning.

The exam was divided into 3 parts I.e 1st mock (15) marks,2nd mock(15 mark) and then final (50mark) and rest 20 mark as practiCal and field work.the students who do class regularly,is easy to pass because teachers are awesome..but if anyone miss class then it's hard to understand by reading books. The guard during exam is too hard..so those students who read concentrately are passed easily .. and those who don't read whole year and only read exam night they failed..
